This is abosolutely the saddest movie I have ever seen. It's such an amazing story about how a dad would risk everything to save the people he love.This is a great movie to let your kids watch so they could learn about the Holocaust. It's not like Schindler's List how there's inappropriate scenes in it, but this is a great family movie. It will have you laughing and leave you crying.

I was in tears when the American soldier came by. Little Joshua was so happy seeing the tank, not knowing what happened to Guido, and the soldier just did what he was supposed to do, save all those who survived the horrors of the camp. The way the soldier reacted to Johsua being there seemed to intensify Joshua's innocence and made the film light-hearted again.

This movie is real masterpiece of cinematography. I've never seen a movie with such a balance of hysterical comedy and serious drama. Roberto Benigni was brilliant. Nicoletta Braschi was impressive too. The movie won 3 Oscars I would give it more. Life is Beautiful is one of my all time favorite War movies - along with Escape from Sobibor (1987), Schindler's List (1993), Savior (1998), Enemy at the Gates (2001), The Pianist (2002) and Black Book (2006).

How should I describe this movie. Its almost like a disney holocaust movie WAIT listen to my explanation.

Don't expect the heartfelt sadness of Schindler's List this movie is actually pretty happy compare to other holocaust films granted it still has a sad ending. I'll say though although it does feel disney like that's a good thing. This is overall a great film and I'd recommend it.

this is one of the most moved and memorable movies of all time. i watched this first as a kid and i remember being so affected. the emotions were so real. it'll have you laughing & crying, a truly cathartic experience for anyone of any age or culture. even watching this trailer after more than 10 years since i first saw it, i was moved once again. this is one of those rare movies that makes you aware of your own humanity, that will have you gripping onto your emotions you thought you never had.

i had to watch this in history class 2 years ago.. we watched the italian version with english subtitles.. everyone was very bitter about it till they got to the concentration camp and everyone almost started crying at the end :P

i prefer the subbed version.. but the english dub isnt so bad.. not the worst.

I would say Guido Orefice is the greatest hero of any movie ever made (Better than Superman, Atticus Finch, Indiana Jones or James Bond) . I'm not saying this is the best movie ever made - Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile, Pulp Fiction, etc are better in my opinion. But Guido is a true hero and my favorite character ever.
