  • The only thing missing is the cannon shots.

  • Yêu bond

  • Qué mierda!

  • It´s so beautiful, it´s amazing... i love bond forever <3 :)

  • If Tchaikovsky were around, I think he would approve!

  • What a girls!!!

  • I love them all, but the cellist is SO cute!

  • at the end of the day if these beautys manage to introduce a new generation to classical music then it's a good thing right??

  • as a man, i can only assume that these ladies did at least 1 sexual thing together.

  • nagyon szép

  • WHERE WERE THE CANNON BLASTS?!?!

  • amazing how traditionally Russian melody (winning in Franco-Russian war) became so epically important in American history!

  • @SergeyVA We are a nation made from people of many nations. It's the american thing to do :)

  • how exactly do you not play live on an instrument?

  • but they learnt music since 3/5/7 .

  • epic win

  • I wanna know if a professional violin player can see this video and told us if the finger movement goes with the notes? Is the only way for finishing all this discusion about fake playing from bond.

  • Ladies I LOVE IT, PLAY ON - LADIES PLAY ON.

  • There are millions of classical musicians across the world who are able to play the same music almost identically every time, especially when working with an orchestra. Just because these are beautiful women doesn't mean they aren't able to do that too.

It's true this does sound the same as the recording but that doesn't mean it's not live necessarily- just great talent.

Or I hope it's that, I don't want my Bond bubble popped!

  • Technically speaking, they're sound.

So if they're not playing it for real, they're some of the best fakers I've ever seen.

  • @mentalguitarisist I keep wondering about that myself. Peopl insist that it is live, but it's like way too perfect or something. I also noticed strating at about :38, they have an orchestra playing along with them? How do we know that THEY aren't actually playing it? I don't know much about hte mechanics of playing the violin, but there are parts in the last one I watched (Oceanic) where it sure didn't look like the motions matched the music. But Bond is wonderful all the same.

  • play this alongside the studio version, justforever96, and you'll hear that they are exactly the same.

  • It is common knowledge that there are sync problems with the audio/video on You Tube....don't base your assumption on what you see here..

  • @justforever96 Perfection is what classical musicians strive desperately, as is identical repetition. They are musicians of a high caliber who have worked a long time to achieve exactly the things that people are saying they're using play back for!

  • Without taking anything away from this performance. This is a shortened version.

  • @ghajnrazul Yes, but I recently had to play the long version, and it was tedious and awful. I'm glad they played a shortened. Aren't you? (This isn't an attack, just discussion)

  • @musicman24X Do you still have the sheets? Mind sharing or telling me where did you get it from? :P

  • @yhten95 'Fraid I can't. It was with my school's Wind Ensemble.

  • Sacrée performance ! Superbe prestation !

C'est bien la première et j'espère la seule fois que je me réjouis d'une défaite française :-))

  • BUENA VERSION

  • Sounds slightly like parts of Doctor Who.

  • Hey Pratt, simple English... read through the definitions. Words are an option when singing.

sing /sɪŋ/ Show Spelled Pronunciation [sing] Show IPA verb, sang or, often, sung; sung; sing⋅ing; noun

    Use sing in a Sentence

verb (used without object) 1. to utter words or sounds in succession with musical modulations of the voice; vocalize melodically.

    2. ...

    3. to produce melodious sounds, usually high in pitch, as certain birds, insects, etc.: The nightingale sang in the tree.

  • oh how gay-yee makes those strings come alive as if from her heart...love this song haha coulnt resist lets be friends and enjoy bond,,it was written to commemorate the battle of borodino and despite the russian retreat and subsequent burning of moscow by the russians, napoleon had to retreat from russia which ended in diaster for the grand armee. napoleon and alexander I would cross swords again

  • Man don't argue over the small things---Just enjoy the MUSIC.

  • There are a lot of people who are posting that this a "song". Doesn't anyone bother to check their dictionary before they post? A SONG is music WITH words.! Ergo this is a tune or a piece of music etc. anyone care to check their dictionary before they make comments

  • So when you hum a song... you're mumbling words? It's not the exact definition, but song in the common vernacular also means tune, melody, music, etc. Relax, mate, don't be so uptight... you'll give yourself an aneurysm.

  • SkeletonJake. Why don't you check your dictionary before you make idiotic comments? A song is music WITH words. Violaplayer1987 is absolutely correct . This is a piece of music or a tune or even a melody etc. Think back to Kindergarten. If there are no words, it is NOT a song.

  • Unfortunately, the video isn't complete :(

Try to upload it complete please.

  • me gusta mas el estilo de escala

  • It's exact the same as on the CD, so I doubt this is live..

  • This is at the Royal Albert Hall. Of course it is live, not play back.

  • Why is everyone here at YouTube getting upset so easily? I'm just saying it sounds exactly as on the CD, period. Good for them they're live as good as in the studio.

    :)

  • Addicted2TheCorrs. What you wrote was "so I doubt this is live..".

Any concert performed at thge Royal Albert Hall is live! They have high standards.

  • So I see :)

  • The performance was recorded live at Royal Albert Hall. The DVD and CD were recorded off of the live recording. Of course there was probably some audio processing done before the recording to DVD and CD. But to say this wasn't live.....hmmph

  • buuuu... could you do better than that???

    NO??

so please close your little mmm finger jajaja

  • @coleturner16 What he hell are you talking about? My comment was about a well known problem with You Tube... I love Bond and their music....I was NOT bashing them...

  • Never heard this tune played this way before...AWSOME! I loved it!!!

  • I love a lot of their interpretations, but not this one. To put percussion over that melodic yet sorrowful opening just ruins it for me.

  • CELLO

  • wow!

  • que buenas estan y que bien tocan..el violin claro!!!

  • Is there a part two?

  • Unfortunately there isn't...the person who uploaded this cut off the last few minutes...

  • Yay.

Gotta love part of your show being available in all these different forms...<3

    Go Bond. 8D

  • Are truly stunning

  • I love Bond. I could not remember the name of the band until I remembered they have a version of this song.

  • Among my favorites!

  • we tried to play this song in band one time and it was a bitch =/

  • i no. i LOVE this song, but were doing it in orchestra & it bloody impossible. (im 2nd violin) i mean, theres TWELVE notes in ONE BAR & each of those notes id TWO bow strokes. that TWENTY FOUR BOW STROKES in ONE BLOODY BAR!!! its impossible.

  • in band the flutes(which i play obviously)had to do that

we were like uuuuhm eff no

    XD

  • i luv this!!!

    bond really rocks!!!

  • Interesting.

Most of the time just the Finale of 1812 is what people use.

  • the violin ensemble played this song when it was the competition amongst all the schools in my country, it was nice. but we didn't win . but the judges enjoyed it. true, this song rawks :)

  • why is the song cut off. we want the whole song not half of it.

  • can someone please post it the whole song

  • Bond's version isn't much longer than what is here. Or did you expect the entire 15+ minute Overture?

  • no the bond version which is actually shorter than the real 1812 overture

  • The bond version is round 7min long

  • love watching them especially gay-yee love that cello..doesnt get any better than this..one of the great overtures...can almost see the french and russians battling it out

  • great song, great girls, but my favorite is Eos.....

  • Eos and Gay Yee

  • great song, so relaxing

  • Explosive is my favorite

then is duel and then victory

  • Love explosive.

  • lol i did this for a music project xD and my teacher loved the song! tht means i did great "D

  • I absolutely love these girls...Shine has to be my favorite album. (:D)

  • One of my favorite tracks

  • An awesome song, awesome artist. I love Bond!

  • They did a nice revamp to the classical piece. Cool. But I think the video was cut before the end of the performance.

  • Wow, it's like the new age classical. I like it.

  • The Bond Girls can sure play their instruments! Wow!

  • Thank you!

  • who caresif it is a piece, or a song, it great

  • who cares if its a piece, or a song, they are great

  • Who cares if its a song or a piece?

  • I think they did a great job, always keeping tchaikovsky in mind: The part tchaikovsky composed powerful, they played powerful, the folk song part is played like a folk song, just more up-to-date-"rocky". Of course it's by no means a replacement of the original version, but it is an interesting piece of art.

  • Many purist are appalled at the "rockification" of Great Music. But then, at least it keeps it in the public mind, and when the kids grow up, they are more likely to search out the real thing! And that's good!

  • Agreed. Being a young liberal mind, I sometimes can't understand why people are so uptight about these things. At least they didn't butcher it completely, right? They kept mainly to the original tune, adding a modern twist to it sure, but it should be thought of as adding flavor to an otherwise very good dish & thereby making it all the more tasteful & appealing.

  • i personally dont feel appalled by it but i dont think it holds a candle to the original

  • I agree with you, but this is still an excellent rendition.

  • too true.

  • this is such a beautiful piece!

  • I am soo glad someone has FINALLY POSTED THIS! I LOVE THIS PIECE SOO MUCH!

  • this is truly an amazing song

  • Don;t you all think Bond rocks?

  • I fully agree. But I love all their songs. But this really is something special :)

  • one of there best songs

  • um, nice spelling. It is one of their best songs. They're amazing. I wish I had been there when they performed this song.

  • It is NOT a SONG, it is a piece

  • It is NOT a SONG. It is a piece.

  • Um.... is it music? Because if it is, that makes it a song, I think. Calling it a "piece" is just being pretentious.

  • umm yea... thats what we call a piece of music.. a song...

thats like saying its not a cub its a baby bear ....

  • Technically a "song" involves having lyrics. If it's just music, it's a piece of music, or a "tune."
