If I were making a portable system, which I probably wouldn't bother with because in the next few years the phone capabilities should be well enough on entry level phones to do what portable gaming systems are doing, the last thing I would have done is tied it up with 3G. I use the LG optimus T, and the phone is fine and well, minor headaches aside, but there is no way I would count on the phone for online play. I predict that when we see 5G, we'll see a lot more online play on the phones.

3G is not bad if you have a good signal with HSDPA. If you have a 3G phone you might as well get the wifi only model and use tethering. If you upgrade to a 4G phone later on you'll get a faster connection too.

i personally believe that the vita is gonna take a major shit on the 3ds in terms of gameplay content, network, features, third party games, like fifa, shooters, assassins creed, ninja gaiden will al be better than what the 3ds has to offer. I for one am already paying $30 a month for my smart phone. My wife and son as well. That is $90 a month just on data plan. You are right...I can't see 3G being good for online gaming. But my guess is that the PSP Vita is going to allow you to do as much as a smart phone far as multimedia functions go. So if you are a heavy gamer and want portable multimedia device and don't have a smart phone...PS3 Vita 3G maybe a good option. I for one will not get the Vita...unless it comes down in price.

Well, if you look at PS Vita's official channel,apparently they new about the Vita since 2007 according to them. And maybe around that time while working on the system 3g was the norm and 4g wasn't even available as yet. So I can understand why they couldn't incorporate 4g at that time. I bet that the psp 200 model will be the next ps vita with better screen, etc and the psp go will be like the Viita's 4g at some point in time. Good Video.

With all due respect, I wouldn't be so sure that the next Sony console is just around the corner. I don't think it will happen for at least 2 years, although I could be wrong. Remember that Sony wants their consoles to have 10 year lifespans.

PS3 was expensive due to the blu-ray drive and the cell processor.

No battery chargers & chargeable batterys, no wifi adaptor for 100$ and no 60$ xbl required so ps3 ends up cheaper. + 360 didn't have HDMI lol.

The multiplats were shit though since the dev tools weren't good enough back then so 360 was superior, but nowadays only a huge faggot would care about multiplat's tiny, tiny differences and refuse to get a gaming rig.

@Tylerstoessel Always? I've had a 360 for for 5 yrs with absolutely no problems ever. I had a launch PS3 and it gave me a ylod error. The newer fat models seem fine but the older ones almost always fail. My 80 gig used fat has been with me for 3 years and no issues but so far the only console that has died on me is the PS3. I know the 360 has a higher failure and i'm not pretending it is not a bigger problem but trust the ps3 launch consoles almost always fail!

True, I could use something like PDAnet to "siphon" the data from my phone with out being charged. However, that would void the contract with a carrier and I could be charged with a early termination fee!!
