man, he's been gone for decades. jazz musicians more than any other musicians don't like playing things identical to how they have in the past. i don't fully understand theory-wise what Brubeck did when i saw him in portland, but he kept shifting up and down again by halfsteps or something.. it was trippy.

I agree, The guy on sax isn't keeping up with tempo, he's tries to slow it down.
