Went over the same route in June 2010 .Me and wife travelled from San Francisco to Chicago by east bound California Zephyr. Memorable journey of our lives.

Beats driving by car or whizzing by planes any day.

Will always remember the snowclad peaks of Sierra Nevada and the never ending Donner lake below- all emerald blue.

Wish someday in future all Americans will return back to Railroad than just cars..

ah ok didnt read that it was near roseville sorry so much of ca is similar in the sierra nevadas and yes there is rail ways near grass valley as i lived there and before the fires there was a trunk line that went through that area fyi

it was approx 10 or so miles away closer to highway 20 near beale AFB
