@ ICJ3X Chris Garza is a way better player than Jim Imo . Also Jim's silver guitar is a strat shape not Tele. The first Tele shaped 7 string was A custom ESP for Steph Carpenter. @guitarshreder1231 yeah, I use the same tube screamer (Maxon OD808) for my Metal band and actually, when running in the front of a hi-gain amp it doesn't add "warmth": it adds gain, it cuts out some bass (but in a good way) and makes the tone "punchier" and tighter. It's a cool idea, that a lot of Metal bands use nowadays: try it :)

@chodeuhlicious The guitar he and Mark use is a Steph Carpenter Signature model, and it's a 25.5 scale. Maybe ark's 8 string has a longer scale, but I'm sure all the other guitars are fender scaled (so 25.5)

I would really like someone to explain what a "drop 5th" is. I'm serious, it confuses me. From what they're playing, the chords sound like diminished fifths/tritones, what's a "drop 5th?" I've never heard of them.

drop 5th is another way of saying flat 5th.

The lowest string is the root and the 6th string would have the 5th, flat 5th is 1 fret lower than regular 5th

@BlackTide617, When someone talks about a 5th in guitar terms, it is refering to the dropping of the bottom string from a standard tuning. When a guitar is in standard tuning, the bottom string and the next string are separated by three notes (not including flats) so when a guitar is drop tuned, the strings then become separated by five notes.
