Without ford there would be no chevy, no dodge no nothing cause ford started everything 100years ago and everyone else pretty much copied ford, but made it there own. @nflfreak4341 im not knocking the 6.4 but i have talked to a few guys with 6.4s and out of the 4 guys i have talked to,2 of them had major problems and the 1 tow truck had to have a new engine at 30k miles! true story! it actually shocked me. maybe this is why the 6.4 didnt last long. (the 4 trucks im talkin about were all stock vehicals and used for work purposes. (1 was a tow truck and the other 3 were on random job sites i worked on.) i did research for my brother in law b4 he bought 1.
@nflfreak4341 im far from a ford guy but i was impressed with a 6.4 last weekend. crew cab short bed harley edition hooked up to a 20ft car trailor with a crew cab long bed dually chevy with cummins swap in it. from florida to ohio and we still averaged 14mpg. it does have an edge box and a air intake on it but i didnt think that was to shabby and it didnt lack power for the hills at all. and we even had a complete 12v in the bed of the truck

@Tibbettsify Ford never backs up thier stuff, hey? Kind of like GM turning their backs on customers and not recalling, nor admitting, their 2004-2005 Duramax was prone to excessive overheating and head gasket failure. If any company has backed their stuff up, it's Ford (recall thier early 6.0 Power Stroke problems and how Ford did everything to correct it). I'm a satisfied 6.4 owner now and believe it's rednecks like you who don't know how to maintain their stuff.
but alot of guys run the stock intercooler and run fine, that is if they just have a tuner. the weak link on the 6.4 is the injection pump and the intercooler i gues. cuz dodges wont blow the intercooler or inj pump, but a lift pump maybe.

yea an aftermarket intercooler and elec cooling fans will add power and be good. but if you have spartan alone, and nothing else, the stock should be good.....a intercooler and elec cooling fans if you have industrail injection and headstuds and a bigger turbo.
@rsr530 An aftermarket inter cooler is highly recommended because of the fact that stock has plastic boots on them, and when your running above stock power, the boots have a higher chance of blowing. An aftermarket inter cooler has some sort of metal boots on them and there failure is extremely low. Plus you get more air flow, which means more power and you also get the benefit of running lower EGT's.
Yea it was my first time at the track, I ran a 14.3, and i did a 4wd boosted launch, but not sure what the boost was at ( ill have to check next time). I forgot to mention i have 37's w/ a 22 inch wheel. That slows it down some. But if your running that fast w/ a dually, my tire size isn't much of a excususe haha
The Spearco doesnt help all that much with cooling, but it doesnt help some with spooling during everydat drving. If you couldn't dip into the 13's its your launch and 60 foot time thats hurting you. You need to be boosting at around 20 psi and have your tires aired down. If you have a F-250 you should be running mid 13's at the highest.
