  • I think I'm going to buy this one next summer =)

  • what is he playing in the beginning of the video?

  • what kind of overdrive pedal are you using? thanks!

  • i have exactly these black roadworn strat , and its a really great guitar , specially the one piece maple neck is cool , i love this instrument .

    great review , nice playing

  • Ok, I've got to have this baby.

  • this guitar is american??? or mexican??? japan???..... please tellme

  • @waisfrancor

The Road Worn Series is made in Mexico.

  • I just HATE fenders retarded 7 1/4" Radius.Even the 9.5 radius is retarded, just get with the times fender and either start doing all around 12"+ radius or a compound radius so the strings dont buzz or fret out when you bend.

  • @rockerdude29 Ummmm..The new American Deluxe Strats have a Compound Radius.

  • i just got the sunburn 1, friggin awsome

  • Finally, someone who can demonstrate a guitar, gracias !

  • You are not so much listening to the guitar as you are the amp. The amp is the key factor in making a guitar sound good.

  • @Johngtr13 The thing about a good amp, is that you can hear every flaw in a crappy guitar. An amp can't make a POS sound good, but the player can!

  • @Johngtr13 but if you have a very good amp and you set it up right, the biggest factor is your pickups or guitar all together

  • Is the neck finnished in poly or satin?

  • a question...i'm a bluesplayer...wich guitar should i take for this genre? the 50's or the 60's??? many people said to me that the 60's is better for blues...please answer

  • @BuryMeDown both are good, but i would def go with the 50s (personally i would choose the black one)

  • MIM means Made in Mexico

  • Why don't you just buy an Ibanez and spend hundreds less and save yourself the trouble of explaining to everyone who asks why you'd do that to such a guitar?

  • Bro, Ibanez is good for the budget but if you compare tones of an Ibanez to this '50s Road Worn Fender Strat, the difference is big. For uber metal players, get your Ibanez. But for versatile blues, rock, country, jazz, bossa, etc. type of music, the Strat is a must. I personally prefer this Strat than any Ibanez.

  • @hideyourface crappy tone and floyds are a pain in the ass

  • @hideyourface

Ibanez guitars just don't have soul. They're... sharp... robotic. They're like androids.

I'll take a Fender any day.

  • @EJRocky Well put All the greats play Fenders . *JIMI* enough said

  • @Civic: not to mention expense bro. :D

  • @CiviC092

What a fail of an idea.

  • @a1gold174

well im really into hard rock and metal instead of blues and country

  • @CiviC092

I understand where you're comin' from man, but putting EMG's and a floyd into this guitar is like drawing a mustache on the mona lisa. You're destroying a work of art. My advice is to get a Charvel, an ESP, a PRS, something like that. Plus, I'm sure you will advance past metal at some point and want to play other stuff, so you'll regret modding the guitar.

  • @a1gold174

i've had other choices like ESP or a Gibson

  • @CiviC092

Both good choices. But in my opinion the pro choice that will last you a lifetime is the Gibson. That and Fender are like the companies.

  • buy an ibanez and scrape off some paint!

  • The only issue I have with these guitars is the 7.25" neck radius. If Fender used 9.25" radius I'd be there...

  • @karmadave I know, fender uses the most retarded radius' ever, how are you supposed to bend up on the neck, hell make a 12" radius standard,my jgstang would be one of the best playing guitars Ive ever played if not for the 7.25 radius.

  • Umm its a vintage reissue, there wern't any 12" raidii in the 50s and 60s. They do however make some guitars with 12 inch radius. The Classic Player 60s and Eric Johnson Come to mind. Also Clapton, Hendrix, Gilmour and SRV had no problem bending with 7.25 radius. Believe me it can be done

  • @YogiSizzle I know,I jjust think how they made it like a hot rodded version with the tex mexs and jumbo frets it should have a radius better suited for more aggressive modern playing you know.Theres the problem,I dont think Im Hendrix or SRV?At least not since i last checked.lol.I know, but it seems no matter what I try on a 7.25 it frets out,no matter how its set up,maybe its the frets, the JagStang has those rediculously small vintage frets.

  • Well I have an '81 Fender bullet Deluxe and I have no problem bending on it compared to my modern radius strats.. I just think the Different pickups and frets make since on a " Road Worn" guitar. By now most older strats have had fret change or pickup change, but no magical re radiusing :). Also the taller frets really make a difference and the RWs don't feel like a 7 1/4 neck

  • I don't get the Road Worn series. I'd rather have a new guitar personally & then add my own wear & personality to it.

  • Comment removed

  • I think these are a little over priced, UK about £800. I relic my own stuff which means i buy a second hand 50's reissue mexican strat for around £300 and make it look different to any other guitar. The aging on these are virtually identical with the necks looking quite poor. All in all not a bad guitar.

  • how do you get fret wear on a guitar?

  • u gotta play a hell of alot

  • No,these are hell lota cheap then the customs, under 1000$

  • very carefully.

  • why?

  • nothing man I was just being an ass lol. good luck on the ollie!

  • haha ok and i am proud to announce i mastered the ollie 3 months ago =]

  • @theboywhocantollie why would you like fret wear? it sucks

  • @theboywhocantollie a little gnome comes out at night and filles down your frets.the cousin of the detuning elf and intonation fairy.

  • @rockerdude29 i knew it was the gnomes! even when i was told i was mad i knew it was the gnomes!

  • @rockerdude29 that's great...it feels like that sometimes..LOL

  • hi

which one do you prefer startocaster road worn 50?60?

    what are the differences?

  • 50's have maple soft V shaped necks and 60's have rosewood C shaped necks. These were cheaper but they went up in price, pricing them out of my range. I'd rather play the hell out of my guitar and get this look but it's hard if you don't have a nitro finish on your guitar....and if you baby the hell out of them like I do!? Sounds pretty nice nonetheless.

  • whats the intro song its so sexy

im either gonna get 1 of these or a mex trele

  • what is 0:43- 0:55??

  • Eric Clapton tears in heaven

  • thanks bro

  • what color is it? and is it a 60s or 50s?

  • its the 50s version and its the sunburst colour

  • how much :) and i am from england to (Y)

  • is it an actual 50s, or a reissue?

  • its like designed and based around the 50s strats, mine was made last year tho if that helps?

  • yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees i am, i live in newcastle

  • your interested in buying it ?

  • why are you selling it? you only got it 2 months ago! lol

  • because ive got a better one!

  • ohhhh, whats that?

  • eric clapton stratocaster

  • england or australia

  • Ahaha trolled

  • This is an excellent bass guitar

  • is grim99 retarded

its a guitar you but fuck

  • XD are you stupid?

  • it's a banjo dumbass..

  • it's not a banjo....its a tuba dummy...

  • it's definitely a seussaphone

  • American made are't as great as they're cracked up to be...cheap parts...badly cast hardware...

    CIJ guitars however....FUCK YES!

  • youtube will not allow me to put the email in... you can email through the site and it will be forwarded to me.

    thanks!

  • Intro is very Little Wing-esque, especially 0:07- 0:10. I like the review, as I'm looking at either of the Road Worn Strats as my next guitar.

  • Thank you for your comment. We will definitely offer you the very best price on this model. Feel free to call when you are ready to order.. 330-682-5595

    thanks!

  • any chance that you can give me some advice on which guitar i should buy next? i am looking for a fender stratocaster, i cant decide whethere to get a 50s strat, theyre bout £380 in england, or a 2009 upgrade strat, i dnt know which will sound better or suit me better

  • It depends on your budget. The road worn series are nice at the price point of $949. The Tex Mex pickups really do them justice, and the "relicing" adds a nice flare to the guitar. The new upgraded Standard series are nice as well. I just depends on what you're looking for. FYI - we offer a 10% discount to all of our youtube subscribers! Let me know if interested..

    Todd - The Music Farm

  • I'd love to say that I am interested but because I live in england i would have to get money transferred and then it would have to be shipped and stuff, i've only been playing about a year so i'm not that great but i just want a decent guitar, at the minute i have a fender squier affinity strat, which is black and has maple neck, i am a big fan of eric clapton, and i loved blackie, if they helps lol

  • No problem on the transfer of funds. We accept international credit cards, and paypal. We ship to Englad daily, and ensure a safe arrival. The 50s road worn would be a nice match for your style...

    let me know!

    Todd - The Music Farm

  • I'll go and have a look at your website then, i need to know about exchange rates thought lol so i can get a rough idea about how much producs are in £s

  • No problem!

FYI - with the 10% discount and the current exchange rate, your total would be $855USD or 609£s

Shipping to England would be $99

  • If i've worked it out right i thing it will be cheaper for me to buy one from you and have it imported rather than buying from an english shop, the only problem I have at the minute is money for that, i was only expecting to spend around 400, so im gonna have to wait a while longer, will that 10% discount apply still in a few months, also would it cost more to ship if I bought strings aswell?

  • No problem. The 10% discount will stand.. If you purchase strings with the guitar, they will ride along for free. So no extra shipping charges...

    thanks! let me know,

    Todd - The Music Farm

  • can you do me a favour, can you send me your email so that i can let you know when I have the money

  • hey idk if you've already bought this guitar.

but i think its better if you save up and just buy a fender american standard strat.

this guitars nice and all for its looks

but overall, the american feels better, plays better, and sounds better. this is just a standard strat, which normally run for about 500-600 u.s. i think, beaten up and sold for about 400 more. this is just my opinion though. feel free to choose as you like.

  • i have bought it now, i got it a few weeks ago, i love it, the only think im not to keen on is the pickups cus they hum, but im not sure whether that could be my amp lead? or do you know any other causes?

  • the hum comes with just about any stratocaster. since they have single coil pickups, they pick up frequencies from just about any electrical device, from a fridge to a computer. one thing you could do to fix that would be to put some noiseless pickups on it, like the ones on an american deluxe strat. but congrats on your purchase, i still would recommend you go for an american standard, but if you're happy with yours then cheers to you. rock on buddy.

  • how much is it?

  • the guitar?

  • yes the guitar. how much is it?

  • i got it for £607 but it retails around £680-690

  • i dont know, the deluxe players strat might get a sound your looking for. it has the noisless pickups, not the same, but like the eric clapton sig

  • like i told scaura90, i suggest saving up about 200-300 dollars more and buying an american standard instead. better woods, better craftsmanship, better electronics, better sound. though the Road Worn's look great, they're just mexican made standard strats (600 bucks i think), that have been beat up and a higher price tag put on em (1000 bucks i think.) but in the end its up to you.

  • oh, well, I haven't played the amer, mex, or road yet, so I figure I'll play them before I buy, so thank you for your suggestion.

  • Gotta be honest with ya here... There is definitely something unique about the MIM "Road Worn" guitars. They're not a regular 'ole MIM Standard that's been beat up. Not even close.

They also feel and sound different than the typical American Standard stuff. The only way to really judge these is to get out there and spend some time with them.

I've read ALOT of comments on the message boards from players that have fallen head-over-heals for these guitars. They are pretty special.

  • i know that they feel great, play great, and look cool, but everything that goes into them including wood, pickups, electronics, stuff like that are all features of the MIM standard. i'm not saying it's a bad thing, it just is what it is. i've played 'em at guitar center to see what the hype was about, the only thing i can i say that differentiates this guitar from a normal MIM is the neck, which feels a lot better.

  • Absolutely wrong. It's entirely different from standard MIMs. I own both a MIM standard and a 50s roadworn.

The Road worn wins in fit and finish. Its Exceptionally better than some standard strats I've played.

American Standards are an entirely different style. They're with modern specs, just look at the saddles, bridge, trem block and etc.

  • that's exactly what i said.. sound-wise, craftsmanship-wise (excluding the relic-ing), electronics-wise, they're pretty much equal to standards. the only difference i would say is the way it feels, which is a lot better than a standard.

  • sorry, the road worn's have tex-mex pickups. but to be honest, i can't really tell the difference.

  • MIM? wuts that?

  • Made in Mexico, just down the road from the U.S. factory I think

  • thanks

  • A Wayne Shepherd Sound !!!!
