I just HATE fenders retarded 7 1/4" Radius.Even the 9.5 radius is retarded, just get with the times fender and either start doing all around 12"+ radius or a compound radius so the strings dont buzz or fret out when you bend.
a question...i'm a bluesplayer...wich guitar should i take for this genre? the 50's or the 60's??? many people said to me that the 60's is better for blues...please answer
Why don't you just buy an Ibanez and spend hundreds less and save yourself the trouble of explaining to everyone who asks why you'd do that to such a guitar?
Bro, Ibanez is good for the budget but if you compare tones of an Ibanez to this '50s Road Worn Fender Strat, the difference is big. For uber metal players, get your Ibanez. But for versatile blues, rock, country, jazz, bossa, etc. type of music, the Strat is a must. I personally prefer this Strat than any Ibanez.
I understand where you're comin' from man, but putting EMG's and a floyd into this guitar is like drawing a mustache on the mona lisa. You're destroying a work of art. My advice is to get a Charvel, an ESP, a PRS, something like that. Plus, I'm sure you will advance past metal at some point and want to play other stuff, so you'll regret modding the guitar.
@karmadave I know, fender uses the most retarded radius' ever, how are you supposed to bend up on the neck, hell make a 12" radius standard,my jgstang would be one of the best playing guitars Ive ever played if not for the 7.25 radius.
Umm its a vintage reissue, there wern't any 12" raidii in the 50s and 60s. They do however make some guitars with 12 inch radius. The Classic Player 60s and Eric Johnson Come to mind. Also Clapton, Hendrix, Gilmour and SRV had no problem bending with 7.25 radius. Believe me it can be done
@YogiSizzle I know,I jjust think how they made it like a hot rodded version with the tex mexs and jumbo frets it should have a radius better suited for more aggressive modern playing you know.Theres the problem,I dont think Im Hendrix or SRV?At least not since i last checked.lol.I know, but it seems no matter what I try on a 7.25 it frets out,no matter how its set up,maybe its the frets, the JagStang has those rediculously small vintage frets.
Well I have an '81 Fender bullet Deluxe and I have no problem bending on it compared to my modern radius strats.. I just think the Different pickups and frets make since on a " Road Worn" guitar. By now most older strats have had fret change or pickup change, but no magical re radiusing :). Also the taller frets really make a difference and the RWs don't feel like a 7 1/4 neck
I think these are a little over priced, UK about £800. I relic my own stuff which means i buy a second hand 50's reissue mexican strat for around £300 and make it look different to any other guitar. The aging on these are virtually identical with the necks looking quite poor. All in all not a bad guitar.
50's have maple soft V shaped necks and 60's have rosewood C shaped necks. These were cheaper but they went up in price, pricing them out of my range. I'd rather play the hell out of my guitar and get this look but it's hard if you don't have a nitro finish on your guitar....and if you baby the hell out of them like I do!? Sounds pretty nice nonetheless.
Thank you for your comment. We will definitely offer you the very best price on this model. Feel free to call when you are ready to order.. 330-682-5595
any chance that you can give me some advice on which guitar i should buy next? i am looking for a fender stratocaster, i cant decide whethere to get a 50s strat, theyre bout £380 in england, or a 2009 upgrade strat, i dnt know which will sound better or suit me better
It depends on your budget. The road worn series are nice at the price point of $949. The Tex Mex pickups really do them justice, and the "relicing" adds a nice flare to the guitar. No problem on the transfer of funds. We accept international credit cards, and paypal. We ship to Englad daily, and ensure a safe arrival. The 50s road worn would be a nice match for your style...

but i think its better if you save up and just buy a fender american standard strat.
this guitars nice and all for its looks

like i told scaura90, i suggest saving up about 200-300 dollars more and buying an american standard instead. better woods, better craftsmanship, better electronics, better sound. though the Road Worn's look great, they're just mexican made standard strats (600 bucks i think), that have been beat up and a higher price tag put on em (1000 bucks i think.) but in the end its up to you.
Gotta be honest with ya here... There is definitely something unique about the MIM "Road Worn" guitars. They're not a regular 'ole MIM Standard that's been beat up. Not even close.
They also feel and sound different than the typical American Standard stuff. The only way to really judge these is to get out there and spend some time with them.
I've read ALOT of comments on the message boards from players that have fallen head-over-heals for these guitars. They are pretty special.
i know that they feel great, play great, and look cool, but everything that goes into them including wood, pickups, electronics, stuff like that are all features of the MIM standard. i'm not saying it's a bad thing, it just is what it is. i've played 'em at guitar center to see what the hype was about, the only thing i can i say that differentiates this guitar from a normal MIM is the neck, which feels a lot better.
that's exactly what i said.. sound-wise, craftsmanship-wise (excluding the relic-ing), electronics-wise, they're pretty much equal to standards. the only difference i would say is the way it feels, which is a lot better than a standard.
I think I'm going to buy this one next summer =)

You are not so much listening to the guitar as you are the amp. The amp is the key factor in making a guitar sound good.
Johngtr13 1 year ago 8
@Johngtr13 The thing about a good amp, is that you can hear every flaw in a crappy guitar. An amp can't make a POS sound good, but the player can!
mazsenior 1 year ago
@Johngtr13 but if you have a very good amp and you set it up right, the biggest factor is your pickups or guitar all together
