Dont hate on Deron Williams like that. It is competition and the league is not as bad as you guys say. In generel scoring is structured differently in Europe. It is very rare for a guard to score that many points over here. Normally big guys score a more and there is greater scoring balance within teams. That makes this performance impressive. Please don't say Deron couldnt play in the Euroleague. Guys like Sergio Rodriguez play well there and I think nobody would say he is better than Deron

Spanish clubs play in Spanish league and Euroleague, both of them are stronger than this. And there is another multinational tournament in Europe - Euro Cup, which is also stronger that this one.
I'd like to explain something to those who don't know much about basketball ir Europe. By far the strongest league in world (besides NBA) is Euroleague (24 teams), then there's Eurocup (32 teams, champions of this league go to Euroleague), and then there's a league called Eurochallange (32 teams, champions go to Eurocup). That's where Deron's team is playing. The competition level is something like WNBA. His team had a change to play in Eurocup, but Deron failed miserably in qualifying games.

Dont hate on Deron Williams like that. It is competition and the league is not as bad as you guys say. In generel scoring is structured differently in Europe. It is very rare for a guard to score that many points over here. Normally big guys score a more and there is greater scoring balance within teams. That makes this performance impressive. Please don't say Deron couldnt play in the Euroleague. Guys like Sergio Rodriguez play well there and I think nobody would say he is better than Deron

Americans, please don't imagine anything superb here. This is THIRD league in Europe. And actually only third MULTINATIONAL league. Cause f.e. Spanish clubs play in Spanish league and Euroleague, both of them are stronger than this. And there is another multinational tournament in Europe - Euro Cup, which is also stronger that this one.

I'd like to explain something to those who don't know much about basketball ir Europe. By far the strongest league in world (besides NBA) is Euroleague (24 teams), then there's Eurocup (32 teams, champions of this league go to Euroleague), and then there's a league called Eurochallange (32 teams, champions go to Eurocup). That's where Deron's team is playing. The competition level is something like WNBA. His team had a change to play in Eurocup, but Deron failed miserably in qualifying games.

@aanstation the thing is that there is no nba at the moment and the rest of besiktas team is not that good so dwill has to play at the third european competition. They didn't make it to the eurocup one step above so only one williams does not make a team succesfull. You have to notice that Göttingen is at 18. in german bbl at the moment.

@l6rich They can't because in europe in the absence of 'stars' it's a team game and they just don't get as many shots as they get in the nba. You see that he had to be almost perfect in shooting to score 50. He still got a lot of shots though, but hey, he is a star. They didn't bring him there to play a team game.
