If there is a screw in the end of the button, you can most likely remove the screw and the button will come off. I recommend that you release the tension on the string before removing the screw because some tuners will come apart from the string tension pushing the worm gear and shaft out the end of the housing. Once you remove the screw the button should come off.
The new duck tail headstock option is a nice aesthetic to the guitar. Does it serve to add strength as well?

beautiful work !
May I ask a question about tuner buttons ?
How can I tell if my guitar has screw on or glue on buttons ?
I'm afraid to try unscrewing them for fear they may be glued on and I'll make a mess.
If they are screwed on what is the safe way to remove them ?
I would like to replace my stock buttons.
thanks for any help !
