This is a backwards generation, where we can actually say movies or a tv series can rival a book. Not in the level of content, or immersion, or beautiful storytelling maybe, but in a way that pleases the senses and entertains us in ways that a book can't, and maybe tv can fit in people's hectic schedules better. So what I'm saying is if it wasn't for the Legend of the Seeker, I wouldn't have known about Terry Goodkind or the Sword of Truth Series.
For god's sake people.....the show isnt that bad. The show might not be exactly like the books and they might of changed of few things, but you guys dont need to start ranting about something thats already done. Just think of it as a different view of the story. Its not that big of a deal.
tbh the series arnt without their charms, i LOVED! the books, but i like the tv series, who gives a fuck if richard isnt as good as he can be. who cares if some of the plots have been cut, fucking hell man think of it as extending an amazing series of books!
Having read all the books and now watched the series I find myself getting really annoyed at the differences; [books] Zedd raised Richard - [series] is just a crazy old man at the start who Richard has nothing in common with...[books] all the Confessors are dead except Kahlan, not in the series...the Mord-Sith...Journey books??!! Aaaaggghhh!!! Too painful for me i'm afraid, I think I will stick with the books!
errrmm.. yeah the TV show is different from the book. duh. i like both. and tom5coat, Richard is not very smart, and somewhat childish in the books. he has too be the dumbest war wizard to have been born in 3000 years. i am somewhat new to posting comments, and cannot believe how brutal people are, all the language. why do people have so much hate over nothing? if only they would direct that energy to more important things in the world. lol what a bunch of dorks.
@jnbeetle Richard is alot smarter in the book... In the tv series hes all brawn but in the book i figure things out. He fools Darken Rahl into opening the wrong box he does things that is far more thougt through. In the series its just slow motion sword fights etc. Im not saying the tv series isnt good its just that they are two diffrent things the only thing they got in common is the landscape and the character names. Its like a diffrent dimension of the world in the book.
i tried to like the series but its just too different. I couldnt even believe that Richard was Richard. In the book he is so much smarter and less of a child as seen in the TV series. In the first episode of the series Richard refers to zed as a "crazy old man" when in the book they had been very good friends for many years. This is just one example of the huge and little differences that have marred this tale beyond recognition.
Besides, Horner & Regan have great chemistry and no other actress could portray Kahlan better than Bridget.
And ... let's not forget there are a lot of people who found out about the books thanks to the show and very pleased with both. No show or movie has ever fully respected the book it was based upon so don't get what's all the fuss about.
Ohh please ... just STOP with all these bad reviews. Don't like it, don't watch it. It's very simple. It' so annoying having book people criticizing all the time. I have read the books (so I'm one of the book readers awell) and love them but I also adore the show. They are separate entities and that's the fun. I'd hate knowing what happens every step of the way. So I'm more than pleased with the how the series has turned out.

Is Xena any less of a show because the producers placed her in different ages of history? No, not really, not at all! It's great that the Seeker TV show is there to explore the characters we all loved reading from the books. If you love the books so much then by all means read them again. The show is to celebrate the books and the characters and try to stay true to them as much as possible, but not be a page by page retelling, where would the fun in that be?
well said. i agree 100 percent. i'm on naked empire right now and just 2 weeks ago realized they had made a tv series based on the books. watched them all on hulu & enjoyed the show, not as much as the books, but i like it in its own way. each novel is way too long to be made into film, & to make a tv show it has to be done in a way that people will watch it & understand what is happening. i think they did a great job given the circumstances. i don't see what everyone's complaining about.
The fan base didn't complain much at all for Watchmen but its a huge up stir for L.o.t.S.
I like the show but I would prefer it to pretty much be the same as the book. Its too different. You have to understand why so many people are mad. I know they have to adapt the book to TV and it would be difficult for anyone to jump in mid season if the show were the same as the book. However, Watchmen is an interesting case study to consider.
Guys, i've just finished reading the books. I absolutely loved them. But this show is in no way based on the books, i'm just watching the episode with Kahlans nephew and every shot is a betrayal to the books. I haven´t found anything in that episode that is even correct according to what i know of the world in which it takes place. Í feel like this show was created with the sole reason to piss me off.
I agree with everyone who doesn't like this series. I would understand if they added some things but they haven't stayed true to anything. At least the main plot points should of stayed. but they destroyed everything. and based on the book means based on the book. this is a ridiculous rendition of a great series
I haven't read the books, so my opinion is just as a TV show. And I love it! It's really interesting and very adventurous and mystery and intrigue. It keeps getting better and better.
Come on people. The show is "based" on the books. That's a pretty lose term. You can never compare a weekly tv show to some of the best books written. It's TV! Stop comparing the 2. And Coolhand your a nut. Remember Coolhand. It's "based" on the books!
Alright, so let's say it's "just" based on the books.
Still, as Terry himself says it's extremely important that the characters stay true to themselves. And beyond that, that the universe they live in is portrayed correctly. And that's just not what's happening.
The characters are flimsy and shallow compared to the books. More importantly, they convey completely different traits of character. And there are so many mistakes in the portrayal of the universe I wouldn't know where to begin.
Also the intensity and thrill one would feel while reading the books is really not transposed on the screen. The Sword of truth series is so suspenseful that most parts, when intended, rivals the best horror scenes I've ever scene or red. The graphic imagery used by Terry during those scenes (in the book ) is also what made it so intense. The books were very rich, but the tv series is horribly watered down.
You know i have read all the books at least 3 times each. the show is just not the same *sigh* oh well it is still a good show just not what i wished it to be but i hope it will get more people to read the real thing, because nothing can come close to what Goodking wrote.
TO FINISH OFF THIS LIST OF ISSUES... i have a question for you Terry. Do you cry at night when you think about what has been done to your hard work and how you have allowed Disney, Sam Raimi, & the makers of Xena & Hercules to rape it? I picture you having nightmares similar to that of the South Park episode when the Kid's saw Indiana Jones getting raped by George and Steven.
I mention this only because if I was one of the actors chosen for the show and I had to read the books in preparation for the making of the show, noticing how many times Terry mentions eye color in his stories I think I would have purchased them myself and put them in, if only to help get into character, as my argument.
Finally, I'd prefer not to make this an issue but I would like to know why the makers of the show didn't think about using colored contacts for changing the eye colors of the characters to match what Terry Goodkind described for his characters, not that this really matters at all, but I don't believe that would have been much of an increase to the show's cost.
The only hint at the age of the boundary is when Michael mentions to Fane that nobody has crossed the barrier which has been there for hundreds of years, that hints to it being older than Zedd. However, do we really know how old Zedd is, the show might create him to be somehow not necessarily immortal but able to live a longer time than normal people, who knows for sure what they have planned, it just gets crazier, wait i mean more stupid, each episode.
My ninth issue, deals with the breaking through of the barrier by the Dhahran forces. The barrier is suppose to be a gateway to the underworld, how in the world can you break through it with magical burning rocks? If magic of that type could have done that from the start why go through the effort of putting it up in the first place and why wasnt that barrier tore apart long ago. Though, here's a question, do we even know if Zedd really is the one who put that barrier there in the T.V. series?
The eighth issue confronts using the story of killing every newborn in the village to stop a prophecy from becoming true. I simply cant believe they went this way with the story this story has been done too many times before. Lets see, The Bible, Harry Potter, and I think even Willow may have used it, in any case it was a bad choice, I dont understand why they couldnt have molded the real story of Richards birth around the new story created for the T.V. series.
The fact that Richards character is suppose to be the weapon through his reasoning and intellect instead of just a guy who is prophesied to use the sword of truth and the book of counted shadows in order to bring down Darken Rahl. Richard also goes from being incapable of fighting one commander one on one to kicking the crap out of a small Dhahran army pretty much all by himself within a very short period of time, supposedly from unlocking the knowledge of past users of the sword.
Richard doesnt seem to display much of the sound reasoning and intelligent decision making he was instilled with from being raised by his father, mother & friend Zedd which of course isnt the case any longer in the T.V. show. Zedds just the crazy old guy who talks to his chicken; however, this twist from the book isnt a huge issue to me.
I think this was a pretty weak attempt to claim the show is based off of Terry Goodkinds The Sword of Truth Series if they arent going to keep at least the books core principles in tact and the character traits of Richard. This brings me to my other big issue the seventh one in which I felt as though that the show lacked the main traits of Terry's characters but mostly Richards character.
I have to wonder what it is exactly that this show is basing off of from the books other than simply taking the names of the people, places and things, some of the abilities of characters in the books and a general sense of the fantasy world created by Terry, and that's it besides Sam need for the love story between Richard & Kahlan.
I dont believe the direction of the show should have allowed the sword of truth to be blocked by any man made weapon or shield as is described in the books, plus, when its used to kill, the welder of the sword should bear the pain and remorse for stealing a life, wounding the welder spiritually and mentally. It should therefore cause the welder to regret using it for any type of selfish act, like revenge, as Richard did in the T.V. show.
My sixth issue and the one that irks me the most deals with the pretty ordinary sword of truth in the T.V. series. The sword of truth was the focal point of Terry Goodkinds Sword of Truth books so you would think that it should have been more properly represented in the T.V. show and have more of an important role other than being a magical sword that is filled with the fighting knowledge of its past users as explain thus far.
I understand that as a T.V. show there is a certain budget that has to be kept within but honestly that fire they created was a CGI effect and how hard would it have been to create that fire properly with the same CGI cost?
I believe wizards fire is suppose to look more like a bubbling ball of liquid fire which would consume and burn all that it touches. The fire that these creator's put into the show looked like Zedd was wielding a crappy flame thrower which also caused the object it was directed at to go up in a puff of smoke as if it turns its target into a smoke grenade when it finished killing what it was intended to kill. WTF? I'm watching a crappy sci-fi show.
Finally, the worst case of my fifth issue happened when Fane kidnapped Chases daughter and Chases military buddies didnt find anything wrong with what was going on and continued to instead help Fane even after he threatened and kidnapped an innocent person, Chases daughter.
The fifth issue I have looks at Zedds wizard fire as being pretty bad looking and not at all like what Terrys description of what wizards fire is.
Plus, through choosing that course of action there is an actual trail to explain that Fane really is to blame for killing Richard and Micheals father. It would have made more sense if Fane would have just killed the two guards once he approached them and just made it look as though like Richard had done it, that way there wouldnt have been any loose ends to contradict the belief that Richard killed their father under Kahlans control.
Following this issue further, I also had a major problem with how Fane was able to get time alone with Richards father in order to get information from him, kill him and burn his house down. For Fane to be able to just tell the two guards stationed in front of Richards home to report somewhere and have them not question why he was alone in telling them that and why he wasnt coming along with them and instead leaving Richards father alone with him. Script writers, are you serious?
Instead, Fane seems to have everyone eating out of his hands immediately and believing anything he says. I understand that perhaps these creators are trying to establish the Wizards First Rule here but all they ended up doing was showing an extremely exaggerated unbelievable example.
...verses finding out the truth for themselves about why there were dead soldiers that werent from Westland in Westland. A more believable act would have been Micheal holding Fane in jail or in some sort of detention under watch until Richard and Kahlan were found and their sides of the story could be collected and verified against Fanes at which time decisions could be made on what to do about all of them involved.
The idea that Fane survived after falling over the edge was completely nonsense. Also, Fane doesnt even show a slight limp, pain or any signs of having been stabbed in the foot at all the whole rest of the show afterwards, oops.
A fourth issue I have would be how quickly Richards brother, Micheal, and his whole village were able to believe and get duped by a complete stranger from across the barrier...
My third issue is the return of the commander of the soldiers, Fane, who appeared to have fallen off the cliff after battling Richard and getting stabbed in the foot by Kahlan. More importantly, the way he fell off of the cliff, falling backwards away from the edge, I cant even begin to create a reasonable idea of how he would have managed to hang onto anything to be able to save his life. Richard even looks over the edge afterwards which shows the cliff to have a straight drop down.
I think this could have been dealt with somewhat by just taking out the scene showing the closing of the path Kahlan created through the barrier, then you could at least argue that perhaps it was able to get through her path at some point after the soldiers followed behind her.
The thought that a Gar was able to follow Kahlan through the barrier doesn't exactly work neither because they showed the path created by her through the barrier close up behind the soldiers when they followed her through and at no point did it seem as though anything else was going through it too, so when and how did it get there. This leaves a hole in the story.
My second issue is more of a question... how did the first Gar get through the barrier? At first I thought maybe it was able to fly over the barrier, but if that was the case then why werent Gars a problem for the Westland people long before Kahlans arrival.
Then, Kahlans sister rolls down a sand dune into a stream of water and Kahlan gets off her horse to run down after her where they have a heart to heart moment before the soldiers finally appear at the top of the dune. Kahlan then precedes to somehow out run the soldiers to the barrier, who by the way are still riding their horses. The view from the barrier doesnt appear to be just up the stream when she reaches it but instead a bit of a hike from the stream.
Yet, shortly after her sister got shot by another soldiers arrow the soldiers all of a sudden appear to be nowhere near them at all. So far back in fact, the moment Kahlans sister tumbles off of her horse the view back to the distant woods that they came out of and where the soldiers were shown to be right behind them didnt even show their pursuers coming out of the woods as if the soldiers decided to just stop chasing for whatever reason.
The first issue, in the opening chase scene where the soldiers were right behind Kahlan & her sister, so close in fact that Kahlan was forced to throw one of her knives to kill a soldier at close range who was about to grab or harm her sister.
Sam your Spiderman 1 & 2 movies rocked ass, 3 sucked ass and this sucks ass because you focus Terry's entire story down to a love story... WRONG IDEA! Here is a list of some of the issues i have with the premiere...
WHY, TERRRY, WHY? How could you NOT have realized that the makers of Xena & Hercules were going to bastardize your truly epic story. DISNEY? Come on man! Was it for the MONEY???? I know you've mentioned on your website that we as book fans have to try to see the T.V. series as a new story because individual stories have to be told in every episode but seriously it's completely F'd up.
I have to agree from what i've seen the show is nothing like the book and I really don't like it. It looks like it's gonna be another Eragon which I really hated it wasn't even the same storyline
He's not doing anything to the books...it's a show. Terry wants to bring the story to people who don't have the time, interest or ability to read 8,000 pages. I hate that ABC is doing it though. I would prefer HBO/Showtime. Oh well.
I'd have to say that some aspects of the story will be lost while, according to Terry and posts he has made on his website, there will be even more brought to the table. One example he used was George Cypher(Richard's father)going to retrieve the book of counted shadows. Wich was told of in the book but never really gone into detail. I, for one, am extremely excited.. scared too
I've read all of the books and I'm actually EXCITED!!! Mostly because I'm curious and I think that the fantasy/action genre should have come back awhile ago. I loved the Hercules and Xena series, so the fact that Sam Raimi is a part of this is AWESOME. Personally, I'd like to see how the actors portray the chracters before I decided how I feel about the series.
personally i dont think il watch it just because it will ruin my preconceptions, however i think its a good idea as it will put the story in the lime light and hopefully get more people READING! cheers
I really, really hope I'm wronog, but I expect this series to be a lame, action-driven stinker. :(
Not only that - the way they are packaging the whole thing right now (the title font, shooting in New Zealand, etc) makes it look like a Lord of the Rings-clone, which it really isn't (except maybe for Samuel, lol).
This has bad news written all over it. Again, I hope they prove me wrong...
they will make from wonderful book endless stupid fighting scenes and bad acting. The character from the trailer look terrible. Please don't make another Hercules or Xena soup opera.
the great thing about TV shows is that you can literally put every word, everything that happens in the book on the screen cuz there's no time limmit you can make a 100 episodes just to make it look exactly like the book and, ofcourse, in a film they always have to cut parts away otherwise it'd be too long but for a TV series that doesn't count so well so i'm excited.
there was a girl named emily ive argued alot with my father and oine day my dad came home pissed because he lost his job and he stabbed me in the neck then threw me in a well now im trying to haunt him but i cant find him so im hoping u can help me find him post this onto 10 videos or ill be waiting at the edge of your bed waiting until u go to sleep...a kid thought this was dumb but the next day his parents found there son dead in the bathtub with the neck slit open drowned...
when the musical voice appears at the beginning of the trailer, "ahhuhh ahuhhh..." I immediately know this is the one i've been waiting for. It will be a great tv show for terry's books. Besides, terry participates in the making of the movie, so for those who think the tv show is not up to the books. I just want to say, hey, terry is there to make sure it is. And you will see it indeed is up to the books. I'm excited.
Come on man, the trailer is epic. ANd from what i've seen, they hold fairly true to the book. I mean, the scene with richard using teh sowrd for the first time; it's -exactly- the same.
I was watching Goodkind there and was expecting him to unsheathe the sword of truth, whisper, "Sword, be true this day" and then kill the interviewer.
The ONLY probloum i have with this whole thin is that these people just getting into the series won't be able to see everything, know the charectors thoughts. Oh and Richard is a bitch! i mean i don't want to be huge and ripped like temple of the winds cover, but i think the staue on faith of the fallin's cover is how i like to think of rich-rich. Have you guys noticed the Gar in the preview for like half a second?
That's my point. ABC Studios is filming this so at the very least it should be on network TV. All the violence, sadism, and emasculation will have to be toned down for that audience though.
i feel like the director of the show didnt read the books , or care about them. they fucked the vibe up completely. terry should be pissed.

Though, here's a question, do we even know if Zedd really is the one who put that barrier there in the T.V. series?
c00lhand208 3 years ago
The eighth issue confronts using the story of killing every newborn in the village to stop a prophecy from becoming true. I simply cant believe they went this way with the story this story has been done too many times before. Lets see, The Bible, Harry Potter, and I think even Willow may have used it, in any case it was a bad choice, I dont understand why they couldnt have molded the real story of Richards birth around the new story created for the T.V. series.
c00lhand208 3 years ago
The fact that Richards character is suppose to be the weapon through his reasoning and intellect instead of just a guy who is prophesied to use the sword of truth and the book of counted shadows in order to bring down Darken Rahl. Richard also goes from being incapable of fighting one commander one on one to kicking the crap out of a small Dhahran army pretty much all by himself within a very short period of time, supposedly from unlocking the knowledge of past users of the sword.
c00lhand208 3 years ago
Richard doesnt seem to display much of the sound reasoning and intelligent decision making he was instilled with from being raised by his father, mother & friend Zedd which of course isnt the case any longer in the T.V. show. Zedds just the crazy old guy who talks to his chicken; however, this twist from the book isnt a huge issue to me.
c00lhand208 3 years ago
I think this was a pretty weak attempt to claim the show is based off of Terry Goodkinds The Sword of Truth Series if they arent going to keep at least the books core principles in tact and the character traits of Richard. This brings me to my other big issue the seventh one in which I felt as though that the show lacked the main traits of Terry's characters but mostly Richards character.
c00lhand208 3 years ago
I have to wonder what it is exactly that this show is basing off of from the books other than simply taking the names of the people, places and things, some of the abilities of characters in the books and a general sense of the fantasy world created by Terry, and that's it besides Sam need for the love story between Richard & Kahlan.
c00lhand208 3 years ago
I dont believe the direction of the show should have allowed the sword of truth to be blocked by any man made weapon or shield as is described in the books, plus, when its used to kill, the welder of the sword should bear the pain and remorse for stealing a life, wounding the welder spiritually and mentally. It should therefore cause the welder to regret using it for any type of selfish act, like revenge, as Richard did in the T.V. show.
c00lhand208 3 years ago
My sixth issue and the one that irks me the most deals with the pretty ordinary sword of truth in the T.V. series. The sword of truth was the focal point of Terry Goodkinds Sword of Truth books so you would think that it should have been more properly represented in the T.V. show and have more of an important role other than being a magical sword that is filled with the fighting knowledge of its past users as explain thus far.
c00lhand208 3 years ago
I understand that as a T.V. show there is a certain budget that has to be kept within but honestly that fire they created was a CGI effect and how hard would it have been to create that fire properly with the same CGI cost?
c00lhand208 3 years ago
I believe wizards fire is suppose to look more like a bubbling ball of liquid fire which would consume and burn all that it touches. The fire that these creator's put into the show looked like Zedd was wielding a crappy flame thrower which also caused the object it was directed at to go up in a puff of smoke as if it turns its target into a smoke grenade when it finished killing what it was intended to kill. WTF? I'm watching a crappy sci-fi show.
c00lhand208 3 years ago
Finally, the worst case of my fifth issue happened when Fane kidnapped Chases daughter and Chases military buddies didnt find anything wrong with what was going on and continued to instead help Fane even after he threatened and kidnapped an innocent person, Chases daughter.
The fifth issue I have looks at Zedds wizard fire as being pretty bad looking and not at all like what Terrys description of what wizards fire is.
c00lhand208 3 years ago
Plus, through choosing that course of action there is an actual trail to explain that Fane really is to blame for killing Richard and Micheals father. It would have made more sense if Fane would have just killed the two guards once he approached them and just made it look as though like Richard had done it, that way there wouldnt have been any loose ends to contradict the belief that Richard killed their father under Kahlans control.
c00lhand208 3 years ago
Following this issue further, I also had a major problem with how Fane was able to get time alone with Richards father in order to get information from him, kill him and burn his house down. For Fane to be able to just tell the two guards stationed in front of Richards home to report somewhere and have them not question why he was alone in telling them that and why he wasnt coming along with them and instead leaving Richards father alone with him. Script writers, are you serious?
c00lhand208 3 years ago
Instead, Fane seems to have everyone eating out of his hands immediately and believing anything he says. I understand that perhaps these creators are trying to establish the Wizards First Rule here but all they ended up doing was showing an extremely exaggerated unbelievable example.
c00lhand208 3 years ago
...verses finding out the truth for themselves about why there were dead soldiers that werent from Westland in Westland. A more believable act would have been Micheal holding Fane in jail or in some sort of detention under watch until Richard and Kahlan were found and their sides of the story could be collected and verified against Fanes at which time decisions could be made on what to do about all of them involved.
c00lhand208 3 years ago
The idea that Fane survived after falling over the edge was completely nonsense. Also, Fane doesnt even show a slight limp, pain or any signs of having been stabbed in the foot at all the whole rest of the show afterwards, oops.
A fourth issue I have would be how quickly Richards brother, Micheal, and his whole village were able to believe and get duped by a complete stranger from across the barrier...
c00lhand208 3 years ago
My third issue is the return of the commander of the soldiers, Fane, who appeared to have fallen off the cliff after battling Richard and getting stabbed in the foot by Kahlan. More importantly, the way he fell off of the cliff, falling backwards away from the edge, I cant even begin to create a reasonable idea of how he would have managed to hang onto anything to be able to save his life. Richard even looks over the edge afterwards which shows the cliff to have a straight drop down.
c00lhand208 3 years ago
I think this could have been dealt with somewhat by just taking out the scene showing the closing of the path Kahlan created through the barrier, then you could at least argue that perhaps it was able to get through her path at some point after the soldiers followed behind her.
c00lhand208 3 years ago
The thought that a Gar was able to follow Kahlan through the barrier doesn't exactly work neither because they showed the path created by her through the barrier close up behind the soldiers when they followed her through and at no point did it seem as though anything else was going through it too, so when and how did it get there. This leaves a hole in the story.
c00lhand208 3 years ago
My second issue is more of a question... how did the first Gar get through the barrier? At first I thought maybe it was able to fly over the barrier, but if that was the case then why werent Gars a problem for the Westland people long before Kahlans arrival.
c00lhand208 3 years ago
Then, Kahlans sister rolls down a sand dune into a stream of water and Kahlan gets off her horse to run down after her where they have a heart to heart moment before the soldiers finally appear at the top of the dune. Kahlan then precedes to somehow out run the soldiers to the barrier, who by the way are still riding their horses. The view from the barrier doesnt appear to be just up the stream when she reaches it but instead a bit of a hike from the stream.
c00lhand208 3 years ago
Yet, shortly after her sister got shot by another soldiers arrow the soldiers all of a sudden appear to be nowhere near them at all. So far back in fact, the moment Kahlans sister tumbles off of her horse the view back to the distant woods that they came out of and where the soldiers were shown to be right behind them didnt even show their pursuers coming out of the woods as if the soldiers decided to just stop chasing for whatever reason.
c00lhand208 3 years ago
The first issue, in the opening chase scene where the soldiers were right behind Kahlan & her sister, so close in fact that Kahlan was forced to throw one of her knives to kill a soldier at close range who was about to grab or harm her sister.

Sam your Spiderman 1 & 2 movies rocked ass, 3 sucked ass and this sucks ass because you focus Terry's entire story down to a love story... WRONG IDEA! Here is a list of some of the issues i have with the premiere...
c00lhand208 3 years ago
WHY, TERRRY, WHY? How could you NOT have realized that the makers of Xena & Hercules were going to bastardize your truly epic story. DISNEY? Come on man! Was it for the MONEY???? I know you've mentioned on your website that we as book fans have to try to see the T.V. series as a new story because individual stories have to be told in every episode but seriously it's completely F'd up.
c00lhand208 3 years ago
I have to agree, it SUCKS!
how could they have done this to the books! they're genius but this series...
The entire story is gone, the characters don't fit, the timeline is destroyed etc.
Xena, genius
Hercules, don't know
WFR, sucks, it's f*****
loved the books and already doupted it would work on tv but this is over the top extreme!
I hope there will be a remake and i hope that one does work.

I have to agree from what i've seen the show is nothing like the book and I really don't like it. It looks like it's gonna be another Eragon which I really hated it wasn't even the same storyline

XurinSTINKTx 3 years ago
He's not doing anything to the books...it's a show. Terry wants to bring the story to people who don't have the time, interest or ability to read 8,000 pages. I hate that ABC is doing it though. I would prefer HBO/Showtime. Oh well.

I Have reread these books repeatedly and I Just started going omg omg when I saw the trailer on TV yesterday,, I have wanted this for some time
thank you for bringing this to life..
axelspace 3 years ago 2

Again, I hope they prove me wrong...
soloduk 3 years ago
they will make from wonderful book endless stupid fighting scenes and bad acting. The character from the trailer look terrible. Please don't make another Hercules or Xena soup opera.
diorio83 3 years ago 2
the great thing about TV shows is that you can literally put every word, everything that happens in the book on the screen cuz there's no time limmit you can make a 100 episodes just to make it look exactly like the book and, ofcourse, in a film they always have to cut parts away otherwise it'd be too long but for a TV series that doesn't count so well so i'm excited.

when the musical voice appears at the beginning of the trailer, "ahhuhh ahuhhh..." I immediately know this is the one i've been waiting for.

Quit being babies.
Complain all you want, you're going to watch it anyway.
There's nothing YOU can do at this point so just wait until it comes out and judge it then.

That's right, Goodkind. Take a nice big dump on network television and destroy a chance of a better fantasy work making it to TV.
RangeofMotion 3 years ago
It's being syndicated by ABC.
I've heard that they happen to be a major network...
LordOz1979 3 years ago
That's my point. ABC Studios is filming this so at the very least it should be on network TV. All the violence, sadism, and emasculation will have to be toned down for that audience though.
