I think the only reason why El Cenizo conducts their business in Spanish is because the older generations living in this town only speak Spanish, and most think it's pointless to learn English since the farthest they'll ever go is Laredo (also a Hispanic dominated city). I'm a 19-year-old guy living in El Cenizo, and I do know English. Just because the town conducts its business in Spanish doesn't mean they don't teach their kids that English is the way to go in the U.S.

This is not uncommon in California. I can name you 20 cities out here where almost everything is done in Spanish, then you have a few local white politicians at the top who are too wussy to do anything other than pretend their town isn't overrun with spicks.
