@Heatherwitbro I have a shit poo :D but we got him when he was 3, and he used to be really shy, but he got over that now. But he hates other dogs and he bullies little dogs. He likes really calm dogs though, my neighbors had a 16 year old malteesee and they get along great. Any reason why he might hate dogs?

No dogs hate other dogs, it just how he is used to behaving when he sees another dog. It may be he was not well socialised as a pup.

Does he 'lunge' at other dogs ? If so he has dominance issues - which is basically your fault for not being in control and his 'pack leader', he gets scared and goes on the attack, possibly thinking he needs to protect you. I would seek professional help with this one, you need your dog to be calm all the time, build his confidence and he'll be fine

@TeslaNick2 My dog basically acts like a weenie when I'm there to protect him, but when I'm across the dog park, or something, he just backs away from other dogs trying to sniff his butt. He seems to like older calmer dogs, but he loves playing with me. (Biting my fingers, playing with toys, stuff like that).

Ok, so it's not an agression issue, which is great. It sounds like he lacks the usual social experiences around other dogs. If he stays calm around calm dogs (very unthreatening dogs) you can use that. If you have any friends with both calm and excitable dogs, try using them to counter-condition your dog.

It's all about patience and persistance and challenging your dog in small steps he can manage. Reward him as soon as he behaves appropriately. I would advise professional help.
