  • IF sex was a car, this would be it. Im doing a 1969 zl1 clone with the butternut yellow with the black stripe. Is it me or is a 69 vette like the perfect women. Hourglass figure, smooth flowing curves in all the right places and can go from classy to crazy wild quick and right back to pure class. Damn I may end up molesting my car tonight, lol.

  • An Chevy BBC looks best (imo) when it's fittet with Tripower carbs, the triangular aircleaner, mmm damn, i think i'am gonna buy a small 427 3x2 engine and place it on my table at home.

    To bad the 427 wasen't a RPO option on the Camaro, stupid rules, luckily it was available at dealers at least :)

  • The nose stripe was painted on one of the two '69 Corvettes with RPO ZL-1.  We got the exact dimensions for this factory stripe from the NCRS judging manual. I think it really sets the car off. The pics do it no justice!

  • I also have some questions.

    Is the removeable hardtop roof on the C3(for example 69- year model)better in an aerodynamical point of view than the coupe roof, is all the ZL1 Vette´ Stripes available on the ''regular'' Vettes´ as an RPO option, and is the Cowl Induction hood really the best flowing stock Chevy hood compared to the hood scoop you see on many BBC Vettes´ ?

  • The removable hardtop is more aero than the coupe. Many race vettes were conv. with the hardtop because the back window in the hardtop is angled where the coupe back window is vertical with sails on either side which screws up the airflow across the back. The ZL1 stripe was not an option.. I just couldn't resist. The stock BB corvette hood is not functional where as the raised L88/ZL-1 hood ducts cold air in from the high pressure area at the base of the windshield. It's an improvement.

  • Would Tripower carbs be much better to use on a ZL1 427 alluminium Bigblock?

    I mean, it ''just'' got a single 4 barrel carb, but what if someone did put Tripower carbs on the ZL1, would it be able to breath better and get more power than stock carb?

  • The rule of thumb as I understand it is; If you're using the stock hood, the tri-power set up is as good as it gets which is damn good! If you run a tall hood with clearance for a hi rise modern 4 bbl. intake, you can make even more power.

  • I'm a canadian, at the age of 22 I bought a 69 coupe Vette w a 427 3 powers 435 HP and now I'm 62....had all kind of stuff in my life but the thing that i remember mostly is the sound of a 427 side pipes...how i would like to be rich enough to buy your vette my friend!
