@1squeamish i guess the deer prob ran back at them and trust me, deer can fuck you up big time. I once found a fawn that was trapped in a gate once and it couldnt get out so i was gonna help it and it jumped up and hit me a few times and gave me alot of nasty gashes...but I was able to set it free...

I would have opened the bathroom door -- created a "sheet or plastic bag" hallway (like a cow shoot) and pointed it toward the door -- get the people out of sight and it would have walked out.

I did this with a drunk relative once -- it works =P

The deer was not hurt.  Everybody ran back inside because it was actually coming back towards the house, but it found its way back to the woods and we never saw any signs of trauma except for a few small cuts.
