Belize has nothing except a beautifull nature and not much jungle left since the government has given logging concessions to foreign firms for commission in overseas accounts .

I tried for 7 years for residence and another lady living in Belize for 13 years has still not got it even though she has done all what is required and still has to pay each month to extend her stay . All my foreign friends have closed down business and left for Costa Rica and Panama .

The police are totally incompetent and corrupt , the immigration even more so at the head office in Belmopan , the drug trade is so open and in your face everywhere . Most parts of B . City are out of bounds to tourists and the taxis are cheats unless they know you . The lands department hasnt updated its maps since 1954 and often sell a piece twice even to locals . Ashcroft is ripping you all off and tourist investors are considered as thieves comming to steal your land and enslave you .

You cant have the best of both with such a corrupt government and murder / drugs / gangs / racism and an attitude that the world owes you a favour.Even Belizeans with any sense know that it wont work at home and they leave to States and UK and return merely for a visit . I feel sorry for the old people who still have their dignity in tact and no matter how impoverished they are they have good manners. @crossbow121 HI. I don't know you but at this point it time i don't like you. How can you say something like that without being able to appreciate all the things that Belize have to offer. It has everything that the states and the UK have to offer except for the lack financial resources.

I am presently living in Belize and was in fact born here. It does have it faults just like any other country but at the end of the day i appreciate it and have no plans to move anywhere else.

The Chinese own most supermarkets in Belize , the resorts are mostly foreign owned , the politicians are ripping you off with their monopolies on all commodities ranging from toilet paper to cement . They build paper thin tarmac roads that dont last and the contractors rip off the government for a kickback to the minister in charge .

The Bloods and Cribbs are killing each other , the tourists are being robbed and raped . Security is being stepped up because of crime
