@eliminator3 In animation 'lip-syncing' is the process of drawing the lips of a cartoon character to match the dialogue. This joke is REALLY funny because sometimes cartoon writers will decide to change a joke and the lip syncing never matches up. Even if they try and digitally edit it, it never looks perfect. So here, they did this on purpose, with a really bad joke. There's no way there was a worse joke there originally. And then the lip sinking at the end is a big meta-pun on the whole thing.

If that makes you laugh, you really should get out more, my 9 year old daughter can match ridiculous quips up with a cartoon to make it look like they are actually saying something that they are not... it just isn't funny...

I understand if the joke is so convoluted that u don't want to get it. But I assure u, it is funny. And not in that Ren & Stimpy, "it's so stupid it's funny" kinda way. This joke is complex & comes from decades of people watching & making cartoons. It's not a joke a 9 year old would think of, or even understand...although I thought I understood it when I was 9, so...

This is genius. I just realized this is a commentary on the way animated shows are produced. Jokes are often changed and dubbed over at the last minute, and they're always so easy to spot. They made it really obvious. What's even funnier is the joke they dubbed in is horrible! Then the play-on-words is the reassuring cherry on top, letting you know it was all a gag. I miss this show.

For example, Home Movies had 13 episodes finished for its first season back in 1999, but UPN only aired six. When a show is cut abruptly short while it's still in production, THAT is canceled.
