  • How many rounds do you do

  • I've been watching a few of your videos matey and i have to say, you put a tonne of effort in and it really shows, good job. Keep going right on at it. I personally am into strength training, but i have huge respect for Crossfit and have a good mate who's a certified Crossfit trainer. I think i am definately guna get into Crossfit in the near future.

  • Awesome video bro. It looks like a lot determination and desire went into it.

  • your box jumps sucks man...

  • @turimtigamajci This was 2 years ago. The standards in crossfit events have changed greatly since then. It's all relative.

  • what gym was this done at?

  • @TheAidendawtrey Gold's Gym, London ON

  • Good job, dude. Train hard and keep the faith!

  • really like this video. music suits well. sub 20 minutes is badass too...jesus.

  • I just started crossfit because my sister lost 100lbs in one year of crossfit and has started doing competitions here. Crossfit is an excellent way to get training in any and all aspects of athletic and aerobic training. And the workouts are varied every day so your never bored with the same mundane routine

  • Sorry nvm my YouTube messed up and didn't show the info before, thanks anyways! Great vid, awesome time!

  • How long is the run? How high is the box? And how heavy of medicine ball used? Jw so I can try to work up to it.

  • @rawvegancrssft100 24 inch box, 20lb ball, and 400m run

  • haha the elitist snobs I know who do cross fits can't keep up with me I would hate being in the gym for less then 20 minutes. The workouts are so random how do you honestly expect to make any gains in any of the 10 domains you are presented with. I am not saying cross fit workouts aren't hard but I could gain much more from body building type workouts then incorporating in cardio. Most people who do cross fit have very poor technique which substitutes from the bad teaching instructors get.

  • @17Manning I'm making more gains in Crossfit, in less than 4 months, than I EVER did on just shit-boring weight-based training. I will never go back to that. Ever. Enjoy your curls buddy.

  • @AChildOfBodom667 ya do you consider gains getting skinnier? I don't find my lifting workouts boring at all you start throwing around burn out sets and high weights high reps you will have a lot of fun. I would rather build muscle then just be skinny and mediocre at these 10 domains haha. Mediocre at everything master at nothing < quote describes cross fit

  • @17Manning Not to step in.....but that's not what I'm aiming for either. You won't find me training for a 5k....doesn't mean I can't run a good one.

Follow some more recent videos. Tons of olympic lifting and strength focus.

  • @17Manning This video was made almost two years ago. The gains I've made since this video I can't even begin to describe. And FWIW I don't have poor technique or teach poor technique. If bodybuilding is what you like and what works for you then I'm happy for you. You're ahead of 99% of the population in just doing something you enjoy.

  • @jayrhodes Fair enough I guess fitness is good for anyone in this country these days. If cross fit is what needs to be done to get people off the couch then let it be. The elitist attitude is something I hate as mentioned before, and I do agree you have good form. I mean gains in what Crossfit because the saying goes if you do cross fit you will be good at cross fit? I mean gains are great in the long run and I can respect that. The Oly lifts you do in cross fit should be no more then six reps

  • @17Manning The problem with bodybuilding is that it "immobilise" you from doing cardio workouts. When faced with everyday challenges, crossfit will prepare you for that like no other sport. It does not matter if you can lift heavy objects when you need to run very long and/or really fast, and the same other way around. The goal in Crossfit is to be as good as possible at as many things as possible. Mikko Salo can run 5k in 17.34 minutes, and still he manages to do a 250kg (550ibs) deadlifts.

  • Jay, keep the wod's coming. You are great inspiration.

    Btw.. Fuck the haters!

  • this is a pussys workout ur built like a twig buddy

  • @TheStudman73 Twigs don't squat 400+ and deadlift 500+. Thanks for comin' out studman.

  • @jayrhodes Studs doesn't get it.

  • @jayrhodes just saying bro... i wanna see that.

  • @jayrhodes And that's all she wrote.

  • @TheStudman73 Nice try. Bet your the guy in the gym who does one set of 5 and rests for 10 minutes. Love this workout. Its actually today's WOD. 1-5-12

  • @igoNegtive crossfit is for pussys who dont play a sport, any athlete who uses free weight wood rupture this mans asshole

  • @TheStudman73 Another stupid comment. How is this for "free weights"

    /watch?v=xMOG_4PmEfY

104.5 kg Snatch. You familiar with Olympic lifts??

  • @TheStudman73 I played two sports in University. Track as 400m runner and Football as RB. Won several provincial championships in both. And now Crossfit on the world stage with several sponsorships. Find someone else.

  • @jayrhodes At first this comment popped up in my inbox like it was towards me. Somehow it is not on here anymore, guess it wasn't meant towards me. Anyways, people who dont do CF or cant do CF because they aren't in good enough shape always dog us who do CF. It is just how things go. Keep up the good work man.

  • @igoNegtive yea sorry wasn't meant for you. Read your post as someone else.

  • I love the evil laugh at 9:24

  • Don't your hips have to clear your knees (i.e. you actually stand up on the box) for the box jumps to count? Not criticizing; just different from what my CrossFit taught.

  • @igotn0thin 2011 Regional/Games standards yes. This was a lonnnnng time ago. Almost 2 years now, before they brought that standard in.

  • @igotn0thin I've heard the same.. and it's more challanging for the body, with better results. Because the ROM (range of motion) is bigger

  • @urhunted More just because it's easier to judge in competition.

  • @igotn0thin I would also think that fully extending is safer, more physically sound. BTW jayrhodes thanks for not playing the awful mosh pit type music. Why do is that so popular?

  • @igotn0thin

yea we have to have hips extended at some point through out the move to count as a rep. good vid though :)

  • @igotn0thin was going to say the same thing, beaten to the punch :) Actually did this workout yesterday, didn't realize it was called "Kelly" :p

  • thats a sick gym where is this?

  • Great job. nearly 2 years on, hope you're doing this in half the time. anyway, point I wanted to make was this - great choice of music. much better than most of the clanging trash metal used in other x-fit videos.

  • @jiamintoh thank you, I thought I was the only one who hated that awful music. What is it from the 90's or something. Whatever time it was from, it all sounds like very angry mosh, neo-Nazism devil worshiping crap.

  • Hard WOD...good job and time.

  • Great job

  • Great job man.

  • Anybody know this music?

  • @Herbster1970 its explosions in the sky. great band!

  • excellent. I love to watch suffering combined with discipline...yesssss ohhh yeeeeesssss!

  • Awesome job, if you don't compete, you should, but, you need to open those hips all the way on the box jumps. Unfortunately, not a single jump would have counted in a comp. Great performance regardless.

  • @jmovechkin80 Had my first competition in March. I wasn't aware of the standards at the time of this video, but I've since corrected them.

  • @jayrhodes What comp? sectionals? I competed in the PA sectionals, finished 5 out of qualifying! How did you do?

  • @jmovechkin80 Ontario Sectionals. 18th of 93. Was happy....but definitely not satisfied. A couple months ago I couldn't do double unders, muscle ups, or snatches and they all came up in the second day chipper which I finished 14th on so I was happy with that. Ring dip standards got me...I had to repeat a bunch of reps for not locking out full ext. The ring dip WOD set me back, should have been top 10 if I focused a little more on making sure every rep counted.

  • Dude, looks great. But man, indoor running? F that. Still, great job.

  • awesome buddy!

  • wow

  • Very, VERY nice! My friend introduced me to crossfit last month and I'm totally hooked. I tried this one today, god its killer, I used the smallest box and only a 10 pound ball and I was done after five rounds... Props to you man!
