@defexorcist - Monsanto's GURT is a way of preventing an inserted trait from presenting itself in the plant's progeny, In otherwords, a seed from a bollguard cotton plant will germinate, grow just fine and produce a crop but it won't be resistant to the boll weevil like it's parent was.

I don't think there is anything suicidal about that.

Now, Syngenta owns a patent on a method of preventing the child seed from growing, but you won't see any videos about that.

When one engineers a "suicide" strain of a plant and then allows it to grow where its pollen can be spread by insects to normal variants of the plant, the altered genetic information of the engineered suicide plant could be introduced into the gene pool of the species and thus spread throughout the plant's population(s).
