  • The gold standard of news opens in the 90s in Florida, or elsewhere.

  • i just noticed a shiny flash on the tampa peninsula. never seen that before.

  • In this opening, only ONE On Air talent remains at FOX13; Kelly Ring. BTW, I am not a fan of FOX13 as I was during these years. All of the FOX13 Local O&O look and sound the same; NO individuality...its sickening.. "music, graphics, set)

  • @fl2k9 WTVT has gone downhill in recent months.....especially after Kathy Fountain retired.

  • Kelly Ring is hot

  • Who voices the opening for this?

  • Charles Van Dyke is the Voice Over Talent.. He is currently heard in many local markets, KPNX-12 Phenoix, WABC-7 NYC

  • Christ...Frank Robertson and Kelly Ring are still on the FOX 13 (Tampa) news.

    O.O

  • Not anymore. Frank retired yesterday.

  • I grew up in Sarasota in the 70s, when this was a CBS station. Hugh Smith, Roy Leep and sports with the young Andy Hardy and don't forget good ol' Salty Sol Fleishman with the boating and fishing report.

  • I'm glad other folks think as highly of this one as I do - It's one of my very favorite opens. The original 615 Impact theme is still the best. I miss the days when the news themes made you feel like watching the news was a special event :)

  • Yeah...I kinda wish they were still Eyewitness News.

  • BTW I think this might be from 1995....they changed to "Fox 13 Eyewitness News" in 1996.

  • I like this better.

  • Probably the best cut from Impact V.1

  • I think the jazzy cut is better...the one in the WTVT 10pm open.

  • This open is awesome. Best series of opens TVT has ever had.

  • I think this was before hte switch?

  • Nope....WTVT switched to that set of music when they became a Fox station. They just didn't rebrand to "Fox 13" until 1996 or so and got rid of Eyewitness News in 1997.
