Right on! Killer video. They should play this on an Ubuntu GNU/Linux computer at my nearby computer store, walmart, bestbuy, officedepot, etc... I want goddam choice for operating systems at my local store!!
Well, not bulletproof, and all the computers I've installed/dual-booted on have different results... But, aside from that this is better than XP and vista. 7 Is really good, and I can't really rate Mac OSX because I don't own one :P
ubuntu 9.10 is pretty darn good. I don't know how they make it being free??? But it is like bullet proof to get it to crash. linux ubuntu is more for advanced users if you did not understand vista or dos then this is not for you. but if you like to tweak things and understand basic programming it will be right up your alley and sky is the limit.
Not much real use for ubuntu it does not bring anything really new. I can just point my mouse to the start up bar and i have all my windows there with tabs (Windows 7)
hehehe....well,neighbour,u asked me if Ubuntu is an update over windows or somethin?Well,no,it's a full fledged os,constructed off Linux. If ur unsure and u don't want to loose ur Windows setup,u can easeally install ubuntu alongside Windows with wubi(mount the image/insert the cd),and choose "install inside windows),and put it in the drive(most preferably)where ur windows is,it then will install ubuntu on a virtual drive which in windows u will see like a disk image of unknown format....
I am with Vista. I want to ask how much power (cpu, gpu, ram) take this effects? And can I play games good on Full Screen with Ubuntu? Is performence in games and 3d and films is lower with ubuntu than Vista. I like Ubuntu and it is free. I want it for laptop. I have 64 bit CPU and for 64 Vista there is no many programs. Is for Ubuntu 64 too no many programs. 32 bit run too, but 64 on 64 better :)
Get ready to be shocked(I was at the figures since I got used with the idea that windows uses as much as probably any other OS)....the whole jazz with those effects consumed a maximum of 300 ram at that time,a 2 ghz singlecore would handle them without a sweat, and as far as gpu goes.....from what I know u need at least pixel shader 1 or 1.2 on ur graphics card.....Now games....games u can play at the same(give or take a few frames) speed as windows,as long as they work in wine(hope that helped)
And the temperatures with Ubuntu Notebook how are they? With Vista I have Power Saver and my cpu work with 2 timer lower GHZ. Is there same thing in Ubuntu?
dude my girlfriends laptop is running ubuntu 9.04 and how do you get the effects and how do you zoom out and run like four things on each side please explain. That looks way tight.
gimme more details, what wine are u using?also if that doesn't work, run it with playonlinux(a wine program thing optimised for specific games)......CS should work without a hitch though
I've actually drawn it.....frame by frame....I know...it's a real masterpiece isn't it?and I used oil colours as paint......hehe....just kidding,recorded it with "recordmydesktop"
Hei men what is the name of the cartoon in the player .... reaaaly want to see it .. loks like the Simpsons and they are amazing .... LegalizEEEEE!!! .
I know of that issue....it happened in an earlier version in Ubuntu(not 9.04),and if it still does for you, just change the maximize/minimize effect to something other than fire/beam up,or stuff like this
let everybody pick their own fucking distros.......it simply raises the hair on my back when I see u linux fanboys do the "it's better" gig.......seriously.....do you enjoy saying that every fucking time?lol...Chill on the "linux is bttr then windows" subject, cuz I bet u had internet fights with that b4.......it's just a fucking os.....I'm on Windows now...Ha!,Windows ftw>:)(come on u bastard,I wanna u wanna swear me......show ur geekyness:->)
Ubuntu is most commonly used... Fedora is my choice to. BUT Ubuntu 9.04 supported EVERYTHING on my 901 out of the box. Not so much for Fedora. I know you install stuff to get everything working. But I am a linux noob. If it doesn't work out of the box and I can't fix it within a few minutes, I give up.
I forgot to be honest....I think from some artistic thread in 4chan,I'm not sure,if u want add me as dudeeeeee16 and I'll send it to ya(Ironically enough,i still use it lol)
if want it at very high and stuff without bugs,u rlly should use cedega then(it's like wine but optimised just 4 games),but it costs some preety pennies though
Crysis running on Wine has been developing in leaps and bounds.
But before people complain its worth remembering that Wine is an amazing project: Back engineered Win32 API's with no Microsoft code.
As Wine continues to grow to satisfy the dependencies of each new Windows program people want it becomes more complete. The day will come when Wine is more compatible with Win32 programs than Windows itself (Win 7 uses "XP Mode" which is just a virtual machine).
I personaly hate the globe.....also I hate filling it with too many animations and stuff.....tried to find the right balance between eye candy and productivity......a fancy sky in the background of the cube cand be really distracting and makes u spin the cube like a test monkey.
Eh, I have been using it for a week now. It's not really much different. Still got the same orange theme be default and a few new apps I don't ever use. The only reason why it's faster would be ext4 which is about the only thing I like about it. Even so ubuntu has to be the slowest most depressing linux distro I have ever seen. I would go arch linux. Learn it and love it.
Silvernode....right now what Linux needs(every distro for that matter),is stability rather then speed.....also being one of the most "known" linux distros,it has more software available then arch linux
lol, that was a fast comment....just posted this like half an hour ago....If someone tried ubuntu then he'd know that it can be preety usefull and task immersive.....but being the only OS with such eye candy.....vids like these are inevitable...
