I know I've gotten really cynical now a days and I think the idea has merit, but I wonder how can we assure that these privatized schools will be of good quality? Especially the ones for poor/lower class families since they'll get less money from them so they can afford it. That they won't cut corners to make-up for it and could find teachers who willing to be paid less to teach, thus these school will still be in the same situation when they were owned by the government.
I'm a Libertarian and I agree that LP should launch a nationwide outreach. If LP were inherently racist, I would avoid them. But thankfully, they aren't. Now would be an excellent time to reach out to disenfranchised voters. Obama promised us change and then gave us four more years of Bush. We need a good, strong third party on the ballot from here on. End the two-party monopoly on politics in Washington...and elsewhere.
I attend Libertarian events. I seldom see black people.
Is this a problem, or not? I think it is.
We must defend ourselves from the charge of racism. Reaching out and inviting Af. Ams is a way to protect ourselves from a PR campaign from the left that we are now vulnerable to.
See how effective the left's accusations of racism are against Rush and Beck?
I wouldn't propose quotas or collectivist thinking. I am just thinking like a marketing strategy person.
I agree that we should be consistent with our beliefs, but we get to choose which libertarian causes to emphasize and when.
Choosing school choice now helps us strategically.
It helps us with a key demographic segment.
There is nothing wrong with that.
I'm not saying that we should charge lower fees for Af Ams in the LP. I'm just saying that we extend an invitation. One way is to emphasize that subset of libertarian causes they tend to like.

Great work!
The LP needs to reach out to non-whites, and this is an issue that can do it.

Don't see it like that. That sounds a bit collectivist. Freedom needs to reach out to all individuals who are undermined by collectivist policies.

And Liberty needs marketing.

I understand where you come from. But I still believe, that we should be consistent of our beliefs. And see everyone as equals. Not in categories.
I know that liberal democrats use racism and collectivism to there advantage, but liberty and freedom will over come there bs.
