Truly a classic episode! Thanks a million for sharing it. Although I enjoyed watching all of the Doctors, Tom Baker reigns eternal as the BEST Doctor! XOXO
This was Terry Nations finest hour......the culmination of his lifes work. It remains arguably the best episode of any science fiction series. Even if the special effects were questionable at times, the script, plot and characterisations were untouchable.....and havent been bettered to this day.
Nyder is a bit too much like Himmler. In fact Nazi is a shorthand for evil in this story, which makes it feel too derivative. Not to mention the rocket sub-plot going nowhere, and a crapload of padding to fit 6 episodes.
@darthbandon10 It's surely no more derivative than "Star Wars" in terms of the Nazi parallel - and that was a fantastic film. It is Davros and his mechanical master-race who make this story so disturbing. Even as a child, the Nazi connection was not lost on me. This tale is still a timely reminder of what could happen when megalomania meets science. And in the end, the mutant-machines take over and kill their creator. Would the SS have done that to Hitler? Food for thought!
What was your opinion of some of the new who episodes featuring the Daleks? Such as Dalek, Parting of the Ways, Doomsday and the Stolen Earth/Journey's End?
Greatest Doctor Who story of all time. Bar-none. I recently bought it on DVD and I was completely blown away by how good it was. Michael Wisher was awesome as Davros.
One of the reasons why I loved Journey's End so much was because it touched on quite a bit of Genesis of the Daleks, such as Davros and Sarah Jane meeting one another again and recognising each other. Plus Julian Bleach was phenomenal with his portrayal.
Just found out in the new issue of Doctor Who Magazine that the Actor who played the Timelord in Part One , John Franklyn-Robbins , sadly passed away on March 21st , aged 77 .
i have had never seen this story before i would definatley be rushing out to buy the dvd of it after viewing this. it is so well done. u should work 4 the bbc
if you notice the doctor and davros have a conversation over would he realease a virus or not and in 'the dalek invasion of earth' the daleks use a virus to wipe out half our population and in a paul mcgann audio episode davros tells the doctor that he realeased it because of the doctor.ineresting that in the dalek timeline it goes:4th doc,1st doc,8th doc
Davros. I liked him as villain. I mean, he never did a nice thing in any of the episodes he was in, but Michael Wisher STILL gets fanmail from female Whovians wanting to bear his children...now THAT'S charisma...
Im not sure what you mean by sourse ? , if your refering to Daleks & I , it isint my website , it belongs to a nice chap called Steven Worman . However , it hasint offically been confirmed as yet , but taking a look at a Sci-Fi magazine in my local WH Smith , i cant remember what the magazine is called , it does say that there have been Tabloid mentions of Davros returning , so it isint just the Sun newspaper saying that .
Right, well in that case it hasn't been "officially confirmed" then has it? By source I mean where you got the information from, rather than just gossip.
Love this video , it sure is a great tribute to Genesis of the Daleks , ive seen this video including the Time War and Ressurection of the Daleks made by you on Daleks & I - A Davros and Daleks Appreciation site .
When Davros returns in series four next year which has been offically confirmed , you can do one of the story which Davros will appear in , i know it hasint been filmed yet , but i hope you do one based on the story he will return in after its been seen on tv .
The music is actually a mix of two tracks. The opening is 'The Schrodinger Effect, Opening Theme' by Tony Gallichan and the finalé is the 'Doctor Who - 7 Series remix' by Miguel F Ettema. I mix between the two half way through.

Sorry guys, the music is fine, I think thr rythm goes wonderfully well with the pace shown and the "Exterminate!" once in a while. As usual, Babelcolour did a great work!
Not bad, but let down by the music. Better music could have made it much more dynamic and atmospheric. Why is it that whenever anyone does a Doctor Who trailer they insist on using some version of the Doctor Who theme? Wow! Fantastic work, as always! I find it amazing that you make these, 'cos they're better quality than quite a few of the stuff done by 'professionals.' Which brings up a question: Are you a professional? 'Cos if you aren't, you damn well could be! This is BRILLIANT!
