gibson les pauls are the kings of tone in my opinion strats and teles are great but nothing can sustain like a good les paul

My impression for this guitar, from all the videos i've seen on youtube is that its muddy and dirty...not the case in 10% of the videos where the guitar sounds excellent, solid, not that bassy...But how this guitar actually sounds in real? Can you get the good tone out of it if you dont have a valve amp, using transistor-solid amp? Can you make it sound good if you have a good experience in setting amps? I cant find this guitar in my town and check her out and see how she really actually sounds.

Great tone Greg. I just recently picked up a 2002 Les Paul Classic that looks very muck like this one. It had a snapped headstock from a tip over. I got it for $350 bucks and repaired it myself and it plays and sounds like new and looks great except for the little flaw from the crack. I hate the ceramic pick ups in it , what PU's are in this standard ? I like the tone a lot.
