This song is absolutely stunning. My ex wife taped this for me before we got married and I instantly fell in love with this song. I remember this album being out back in the day but never bought it. What a song and so touching . Minnie was a spirit that God only kept here for a short time and what an impact she left on us. Long lives her great music.

WOW I remember my mother playing this song a lot when I was in kindegarten and first grade. Looking back I think she also played it because Minnie's voice would calm me down when I was hyper and would cheer me up when I was sad lol. My mother always kept this album and she still has it today.

WOW I remember my mother playing this song a lot when I was in kindegarten and first grade. Looking back I think she also played it because Minnie's voice would calm me down when I was hyper and would cheer me up when I was sad lol. My mother always kept this album and she still has it today.

ahhh the power of the internet...had I not searched a little bit more, I probably would've only known "Loving You" and "Memory Lane" by the late Minnie Riperton...this song right her is definitely a breath of fresh air for me so mellow yet so significant...it almost makes me cry that I've taken this long to get to know her artistry...you are appreciated Minnie...

Can you believe that VH1 had Minnie Riperton's loving you on a show under the category of a one hit wonder? What an insult. I am so glad there are some of us who still remember and celebrate her music. what a tresure! thx

@Vidvoyeur1 , i would curse VH1, for such blatant disrespect. she was our bright superstar, an icon. we love minnie riperton for the effect her songs have even 30yrs after her passing. Way more then one.

Well, if you like this song, you should check out the entire album. It is more than well worth it. I listened to it many times myself (my Mom had good taste in music). And who doesn't remember wearing bib overalls back then? They were it.

i believe it's impossible not to get moved by this song. i wouldn't even know it existed if i hadn't come across it here and will always be grateful to MrMusicRnB for that;) maybe it's my addictive personality but i usually can't help listening to it a couple of times. trying not to sound too excited myself;) peace

The photo is the cover shot from her Perfect Angel album released in late 1974. She had her operation almost four years later.

Oh, she had it near the end of her life. I thought the cancer had gone into remission and came back later.

Do you have the title track? I absolutely love this song, but "Perfect Angel" is my favorite of hers. I have to say, the sound quality on this is excellent.

This is a beautiful song. Minnie just takes it over the top....I love this entire album. Everything about this song is great - Minnie's voice, the lyrics, the music, and especially the Stevie Wonder on Piano. PERFECT!!!

I've always loved Minnie. Every since I heard her sing with the group Rotory Connection. Evertime I hear her distinctive voice, it tantalizes my soul. Love forever.

ok..i always thought this was a joke, or ppl were making this up when they said that when you listen to Lovin' You, you can hear minnie singing "maya, maya, maya" cuz i guess her daughter was rite there, but I just listened to the studio version of her song..and you can hear it as clear as day. i think thats so sweet.
