  • I don't know what kind of camera you have but it takes nice footage

  • Nice video. Very impressive. Sure did look like that deer was shot in the center of his left side. Probably a stomach shot (and by his gait he did show some signs of injury). My guess is he was lying down from being shot recently. Did you look around for a blood trail at all? Hate to see him go to waste. Excellent footage though.

  • @sped16 covered every peice of that land and found absolutly nothing as far as I know he is still alive. No one has ever found him

  • to be able to see a buck that big would be incredible

  • sure looks like that buck was already shot left rear side and possibly right frnot shoulder?

  • just out of curiosity how many people / hunters can a Whitetail Deer feed ?

  • @dhyleck one american or like 20 chinese

  • one deer lasts about a month or two if im the only one eating it..i eat deer alot tho.. i have meat from about 3 deer in the freezer, and i gave 2 deer away to my friend.

  • I have seen all of your videos and think this is one of your best.

  • Don't know if you guys know were crossforks pa is but it's close to emporium that's were I've been seeing some monsters

  • Did u ever find/ see that buck every again

  • @spiggy2 Nope. Heard he made it through all of the seasons but no word on wether he made it through the winter or not.

  • @Leatherwoodoutdoors i saw on that last buck that he looked to be shot? if you did get him would of looking nive on the wall but meat probaly went bad. Ive been told wants a deer is shot and the bullet or arrow hits a part of the meat or anywhere around meat it goes bad all over. its called Green meat or something. not to sure but im almost positive meat was bad

  • That was awesome footage! I hunt in clarion as well. Hopefully you scared him my way. ;-)

  • absolute pig, Watching this hunt I might recommend that if you ever have that chance to stalk a buck bedded, you should get within range and WAIT. Wait till that deer gets up on his own to feed. Then you take your chance. Still impressed with that deer!

  • @stickstud17 When stalking muleys sometimes we gotta wait 30+ min for that deer to stand up. Just a little something to think on.

  • @stickstud17 yeah, we will definitly do something different next time.

  • john when youre hunting alone what piece of equipment do you have to put your camera on when youre going to shoot a deer? i know you cant hold it and shoot so where do you put your camera?

  • @tamadrummer20 I made my own camera holder. Look for the first or second video of the 2009 archery season, I think I show video of my camera arm and how I film myself.

  • That deer had already been shot

  • Dude!He was a brute!!!!!

  • Just wondering, will drawing the bow slower help?

  • @Yellowknight888 In that case, no. I didnt want to pull the bow back and have him not stand up with me holding the bow for a long time. I could tell he was ready to stand up and I was expecting him to look down over the hill, instead he never even saw me, he just bolted. My bow made a tiny noise from the wind and thats what he heard and just ran away. He didnt see us until he got down on the fourwheeler trail.

  • i want to go hunting.....o wait its july

  • Do you guys eat the animals u shoot?

  • @Nephil2012 yes

  • @Leatherwoodoutdoors Thats good. Just bought my first compound bow, hope to hunt somewhere for my meat in the future. First i gotta practice a lot, i don't want the animal to suffer too long.

  • what part of PA do you hunt in?

  • @SethParker23 western pa

  • also pretty clearly limping.

  • @terriergal still pretty exciting - a lightly injured deer isn't much easier to sneak up on than a healthy one.

  • Was that buck injured? It sure looked like he had a hole in his left side up high.

  • what kind of camera are you using to film your hunts? Nice job filming

  • @noro305 Sony HD handycam

  • is that a pse what kind of bow

  • @rednck700 Its a PSE Fireflight

  • what do you do with the animals once youve killed them?

  • @sam4cello126 we eat them

  • @sam4cello126 If you read the hunting regulations it is illegal to waste a game animal. Even trophy hunters give the meat to people who want it.

  • What kind of range finder do you have

  • @tammywunderlich Bushnell ARC rangefinder

  • great video and great stalk! I'm from Pennsylvania and have came across a buck similar to that one just not as big and I was in the situation u were. all in all great video

  • You guys did a great job on this video. Also you make some of the best videos on all of youtube!

  • yea dud he was hit high end

  • Wow. Cool video. Nice stalk. Maybe you will see him again someday. That was a monster.

  • dude if u don't mind telling me how do u grow your bucks like this!

  • dude if u don't mind telling me how do u grow your bucks like this!

  • was he wounded it kind of looked like he was shot or something

  • guns work better , just sayin' lol

  • you should have went to see if there was a blood trail and tried to maybe follow it

  • Since that buck was hurt that meant maybe another buck was manly enough to fight him. That means there is more than one tank out there. Unless it was hurt by something else.

  • I hate watching these videos. Seriously. Because all it does is make me long for this fall when I can get back out there and get me a nice buck! Thanks, John for teasing us with your videos. Just makes it that much harder to sit at home and dream of this years hunting season. Can't wait to show some videos of our own. Hopefully we'll see something and get something on camera for you to see of our blacktail or mule deer out here in WA state. Thanks guys for the awesome videos!

  • did you guys ever see that pig of a whitetail again this season?

  • @cls5292 Nope. We do know that it did make it through the hunting seasons without getting killed.

  • Great footage. Having video like that is almost as good as actually taking the buck. You guys should be proud!

  • maybe if you crouched down a little and made a noise so the buck would stand up you might have gotten a shot.

  • Buy that cameraman a case of beer....Very nice job!

  • He may have gotten hurt fighting with another buck too.

    Nice video. Thanks

  • Great hunt!!! hope you get another chance at him

  • I think you should have waited about an hour and approched the area he ran into from downwind. That buck was hurt bad, tail between his legs and other body language suggests he laid back down shortly after you bumped him up. Good luck, nice buck.

  • Cool Video man! Nothing better than having that "Standoff" with a big buck! Memories that grind in our brains of the big one. I had the same thing happen saturday as a nice buck walked straight under our tree then walked straight away. I couldn't get a shot then he turned at 32 yds...i sent it...clipped that little as limb sending my arrow 2 inches over his shoulder. Dam....waiting from 5 yds to 32 as he walked away seemed like a lifetime! Hope you get em!

  • Great buck!! Great video, keep up the good work! BTW passing the young deer does pay off even when it's tough at times!

  • This video is a PRIME example of ethical hunting and good decision making. Many hunters would just take a wild shot just because seeing something that big makes their judgment go out the window. Even though he was injured already, it is not ethical to stick him with a poorly placed arrow in hopes that you'll get to finish him off with one or two more (like some other videos I have seen).

Good job guys! Thanks for being a good example!!!

  • @theschwarz1 very good response. i have the priviledge to know both these guys personally and they are indeed sound, safe, and ethical hunters. good hunting aint always about the ones you shoot, its the memories and time spent afield

  • Id wait till rifle comes in to go after him again...im hoping you record your rifle season again this year

  • Do other people hunt on your land at all

  • HawgLife!

  • awesome! what a deer!

  • John.....nice work on stalkin that beast and props to Hunter Ru for doing some fine camera work......good stuff! If you guys manage to get a glimpse of him again.....I sure hope it's on film. keep up the fine videos - you guys got it goin on. Peace

  • that's a beast!

  • monster 9 point! probably pushing 150 class . thares alot that has to happen to take a buck like that down. good luck guys ! your gonna need it

  • what a slob looks to be a nasty cut on him.

  • the rut is in now

  • Damn that was some mass He has been fighting , Almost thought you were going to finally bag one on film

  • I have been waiting for this video. Beautiful buck boys. I hope you guys get another chance on him.

  • was he bleedin in the back end?

  • @HuntFishTrap128 Yes it was injured.

  • You have some huge and beautiful whitetails on your property. How many acres do you own and how do u manage it so well. Also where do you hunt in PA

  • @caza6leo I hunt various places but i do have family private land that i hunt. We are in claron county and the way to get big bucks is to pass on everything that is under 16"inside spread OR pass everything that has beam lenghts under 16".
