The game is a remake of the total conversion mod for UT2004, Valve hired that mod team and had them working for them. The new source engine updates look great, new mapping tools will make modding this awesome.

Also you're both wrong, it runs on the version that Left 4 Dead 2 runs off, the most obvious evidence being it hasn't made its way to Mac yet.
