Tatyana was an incredible pianist. She performed Golubev's works outstandingly. If you would like to listen to another great composer YouTube the Great Great Grandfather in Composition of Peter I. Tchaikovsky:
I listened to the first 3 minutes and forgot it was a piano concerto, I checked back the video to make sure it was not a viola/violin concerto X D. The piano part was wonderful though, when it came in.
The Tchaikovsky 2nd Piano Concerto should *only and always* be performed exactly as Tchaikovsky wrote it. The second movement is one of his most beautiful creations and deserves to be heard in its original form. The Igor Zhukov/Rozhdestvensky USSR RTV Large Symphony Orchestra recording is the best modern recording of this there is. It shows that the 2nd Piano Concerto far outshines his ever-popular first.
Yes, this is the version as Tchaikovsky originally wrote it--almost, in the beginning of the 2nd movement, a triple concerto. One of his most inspired pieces. Do not ever get the version with the Siloti cuts--it's a travesty and ruins Tchaikovsky's brilliant and moving vision.
the incorporated piano trio in this movement and his Op.50 piano trio are really great music.. which is odd considering tchai didnt' like the piano/string combination in chamber music
I was pretty sure I've had the LP since the mid-late '50s. However, it's a long time for me to remember, and there's no copyright date on the album jacket.
Thank you for sharing.

Although I love the first concerto as a whole, this movement(2nd of the 2nd concerto) is my altime favourite
