Notice how all the Beatle fans snipe on BB posts, could it be they suspect what we know, that there is no comparison. This is the most beautiful pop music of my generation, period.
Damn, what an incredible song. It's too bad they didn't have any smash hits during this era. Brian Wilson probably would've taken a more creative and productive path into the 70's.
So many people aren't familiar with SUNFLOWER and the wonderful songs that live there - if you don't know this album, I urge you to get it and listen and enjoy.
@AllThisIsThat I absolutely agree! Buy the "Sunflower/Surf's Up" 2-fer CD if it's still in print. This period of the BB's is truly he Boys at their creative peak. Throw in the "Holland" LP and the years 1970-1973 are truly Magical!!
@SilenceBroken23 i agree man. i'm 25 an have got pretty much everythin the beach boys have ever done. i've got so many of my mates into them because of sittin in my car with random album gems like this that nobody ever hears. gonna stir up some controversy but i think they have a stronger back catalogue than the beatles.
@SilenceBroken23: I have just about all the BB albums & CDs (including rarities), but I can't get away from thinking that this is my favorite album--their first in ambient stereo, the first on the Reprise label, the sound so warm and lovely, many of the songs light, 'airy,' positive. Pet Sounds was/IS a ground breaking classic, but Sunflower was a true group project using modern production techniques and an updated sound. VERY underrated album.
easily the band's most collaborative, true band effort. a classic, came out when it was not 'cool' to like them. dumb asseswho ignored them missed a lot..
uno dei brani più belli mai concepiti! Terrificante nella sua bellezza!!!

@SixTailights I know, and the probably did it by purpose. Wikipedia mentions The Beach boy's as one of their influences.

Brillent album and proof the rest of group (when focused and working together) could produce their own classics.
