im very excited about this, when does the beta tester for windows come up??? when?? i want to test it!!!!
QUESTION: does Ohm studio turns midi patterns into flatten Wave instantly??? like freezing to spare cpu or memory? or if our partner does not have the same plugin?? and does after flatten we can came back? per example, turn midi to audio, and then if we need came back and re-open the plugin again?? like freeze, unfreaze???
im very curious about it... i allready subscribed twice for beta
how about real time midi control of something like Maschine or Kontact? also do both users need all identical plugs or will they be shared over the session?
wow, you are going to make far with this software...i have actually made a track with my friend trough MSN and it was very painful to do, i wish i had this back then :D
Dude! Signed up aaaages ago for the beta test for this but still haven't heard a thing. Any chance I could get on it. It would be a huuuge help for me as I do a lot of remixing, colaborating and this would be the BOMB if I could get it! Can you use 3rd party VST's too? Cheers!
heyy OhmForceSoftware, just a few questions. i play piano and keyboard, and i'd rather not add the notes in by hand. is there a way i can connect my keyboard or record me playing the piano? and most importantly, when is this software expected to be out? i've been looking for something like thi sfor a long time.
@OhmForceSoftware looks like a nice idea, but how much power will you need to run a full flegde production in it, Audio tracks MIDI tracks Plug-ins over the net. Also what about third party plud-ins, doubt people like NI are gonna let you use lets say Absynth in it, since everybody else involved would get free access and if you block that, the concept kind off falls to the ground.
You may make cool software but you dont have any idea about making a demo video. What exactly are we seeing here? Why are you making music by typing on a keyboard? Why exactly is that interesting? Sorry to be a downer but this video does little to inform...

@bogusdogus looks pretty obvious to me. it doesn't take much imagination to visualize someone playing a keyboard or whatever and entering midi data in a different way.
Yes OhmStudio you guys rock but this is not the only online collaborative DAW. Reaper.fm has had this functionality for a few years now with it's ReaNinjam feature. Why should we plonk down the cash for this? What will set you guys apart from an existing and very powerful free (shareware) app?
@spuddle To start, there's no currently available app, shareware or not, allowing real-time collaboration within a standalone real sequencer. Keep in mind that the Ohm Studio is not a web-based thing running in a browser, it's an app you'll download and install on your Mac/PC. In addition of all collaborative features themselves there will be a lot of innovations in the GUI and in the way we deal with common music production tasks: stay tuned on Ohm Studio's site during next weeks...
@OhmForceSoftware Hi guys, have you checked out Reaper.fm it IS a standalone fully fledged DAW and not a web-based app. When you bring up the ReaNinjam plugin, you can connect to the Ninjam servers and either jam with other people using "fake time" (I suggest you look this up for ideas for your own app..) or SESSION mode which allows the user to do EXACTLY what your upcoming product does. The functionality is just not so well known about.. Best of luck :)
@spuddle Hi again Spuddie, the ReaNinjam plugin is indeed a nice way to add collaborative features to Reaper, but it's still far away from allowing real-time midi/audio edits. Search on Google by "Sounds like regular NINJAM - whats the difference" (with the commas) and you'll find a forum thread explaining what this Reaper plug-in does exactly. To know more about the Ohm Studio, search on Google by "ohm studio collaborative-and-productive" (this time without the commas)..
@OhmForceSoftware Yup, I agree, ReaNinjam does things in it's own way but there is definitely something special about seeing notes and audio edits in real time which is what OhnStudio will offer. I am very excited about that. You guys will be pushing the niche for online collaboration much further.
@spuddle but i don't like to use reaper. it's not for me. just don't like it. so, i'm glad someone else is making something new. i don't understand why people get all evangelical about reaper. sure, it's great but it isn't for everyone. what works for you might not work for everyone.
@dayjob Reaper definitely isn't for everyone, it's power lies in it's customizability. You can create actions and short-cuts to just about any function however this implies a steeper learning curve and extra time spent create a workflow that suits you. Not everyone has the patience for such open-endedness. In fact with my band I prefer to do tracking for our demos using Propellerhead Record, that app goes the other way and offers a more restricted set of features but does overdubs really well.

Can I render a track with all its plugins as an audio clip (wav) so that my collaborator need not the same plugins? Also will there be a chat function so that I can chat to my collaborator directly from Ohm Studio rather than having to minimize my DAW constantly? Is there a possiblity to place comments on the midi or audio clips itself in case there's a clip that needs changing so that me and the collaborator can easily find the clip that needs changing and change it according to the comment?
@OhmForceSoftware - Most important question yet: Is there going to be a monthly subscription to use the Ohm servers for collaborations or wil this be free when purchasing the Ohmstudio?
@klangkombinat It's also a DAW (digital audio workstation) and works as a sample sequencer too. In this video we showed the programming of a melody for demonstration purposes.
how about third party plugins, any collaboration member needs to have the same plugins, same version etc ? how is a 100% exact same sound and completeness guaranteed for every participating member of a music project ?
@ronny0ragtroll The Ohm Studio will support third-party VST plug-ins. All members of a given Studio session will have to own the same plug-ins (and the Ohm Studio will be delivered containing already several basic effects). Anyway we're already developing some tricks to make things possible even when not everybody has the same plug-in...
@zome59 what the point in that?! Use your brain man! Why would Ohm Force make something to help other workstations? This online thing is the selling point of Ohmstudio, they're not going to give their competitors their selling point!!
How can i get an invitation ?

Will it be possible to work peer-to-peer, without a server? If not, will it be possible to run my own server?
Thanks

It would be great for the future if could do something like the "OhmyforceOnlneTunnel"
