  • tim duncan is starting to look like kareem abdul jabbar lol

  • How is this one ranked higher than Horry in "The Tip"

  • "One of the key things you cannot do, is lleave one of the key 3 point shooters unattended". Horry went off in this game too, it wasn't just one shot.

  • Comment removed

  • leaving robert horry wide open 3 is a mortal sin..

  • i think detroit won

  • Horry again= =

  • If you watched 27 26 25 in order Horry was in 27 and 25 as the player who hit the game winning 3

  • Manu had some hair back then!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i miss those pistons, arguably one of the greatest defensive teams of all time

  • WHATCHA DOIN RASHEED?!?!

  • Horry is still a cunt!

  • Larry Brown and 3 other pistons players disliked this.

  • Sheed won us the third championship in 2004, then lost us the 2005 'ship. Push.

  • if i need a three in the playoffs with the game on the line robert horry is the guy i want taking the shot ( reggie miller might have something to say about that)

  • Horry the Clutch!!!

  • This is the most underrated nba finals of this decade. if not the history of nba finals. this one's a classic

  • 0:33

    Horry: "YEAH. Gimme high-five, Tim!"

Duncan: "Nah, man. THAT deserves a hug!" *bear hug*

  • horrible d. big shot bob did it again

  • how this beats Sean Elliot's Memorial Day Miracle (#54 on this list) is beyond me... read my posts on that page.

  • @sawtine It does because it happened in a key game in the FINALS and not a game 2 up 1-0 in the WCF! If the Spurs lose this game they lose the finals in 6, if the Spurs lose that game they are still 1-1 and have a shot!

I know that Elliott SHOT won them their first title basically going up 2-0 and spurred them to that, but this shot here was so clutch it was crazy! Spurs lose a finals if they miss this one.

  • @onblock7 Even after your analysis...can't agree with you. The Elliot shot was the turning point for the franchise.

  • @sawtine It was huge, but they were blowing through the playoffs and I doubt they lose it even if he missed that! That was probably the best shot in Spurs history though since the team won their first title afterwards and how difficult it was! That shot was nearly impossible. I have to think about this some more, but both rotate as my fave shot ever as a fan.

  • @onblock7 read my comment that i wrote posted on greatest moment #54...to get my full perspective of that particular shot.

  • @sawtine actually, i'm going to have to give this a new analysis....this horry play was a greater moment in "NBA" history...all around. Even for those that were not fans of either team..it was bigger playoff moment...but as a spurs fan...the Elliot shot was the single greatest moment in "Spurs" history....i'll paste my comment from that moment below

  • @sawtine I'm going to retract my statement....about this being a greater "nba" moment....the shot isn't nearly spectacular..the overall circumstances weren't as great... it was not a turning point in the Spurs franchise history... the Memorial Day Miracle shot should be in the top 10.

  • Wow as a huge spurs fan I use to hate Robert horry when he played for the lakers, but I remember that game, I was 15 sitting on my bed watching the game and my whole body was shaking because I thought we were gonna loose, and when he hit that shot I think I slept smiling that night. That's my story:)

  • As a former Pistons fan this still hurts....

  • Rasheed, what were you thinking??? Horrible Defense.

  • this was the horry´s best game ever

  • Yo i was so hype during this game.. i am a big spurs fan Timmy D was alwaus my fav bball player

  • Man I still remember it as if it were yesterday. Detroit blew out San Antonio in game 4 to tie the series. Then this crucial game 5 went to overtime and I could remember all of us screaming at the TV "Dont leave Robert fucking Horry open" Chauncey missed the next shot and I thought it was over. Detroit wins game 6 on the road and loses game 7 after being up 9 in the 3rd and tied going into the 4th. Gotta give it to Timmy though he was the difference at the very end.

  • these 2 should never comentate a game again

  • dont leave horry open!

    oh they did

  • Big Shot Rob!!!!

  • Only the Spurs could make a 7 game Finals series boring, but that they did...with style. Horry's performance was the only saving grace.

  • Doesn't Ginoblli look like John Cazale from the "Dog Day Afternoon".

  • Sheed! What are you doing!?! First you come to late to challenge Sean Elliot in 1999, then you and the Blazers choke away 2000 WCF, then you leave Horry open in 2005, then you and the Pistons choke away 2007 and 2008 ECF, then you and the Celtics choke away the 2010 Finals!

  • If nobody seen that coning, they must be crazy!!!

  • Yup best Finals of 2000's so far, in that it was two evenly matched squads with equal amount of star players and skill of teams. It wasn't like the teams just got hot in the playoffs - they dominated all season.. Ultimately I think Duncans class trumped them in the end...

  • open like 7-11 at 2 am for the free 3

  • it gives me shivers.

  • haha when manu had long hair

  • I cried myself to sleep that night

  • Rasheed not known for his THINKING...LOL

  • This series was so intense. I remember watching this shot, and talking about it for MONTHS afterwards with my friends. At this point, I just gave in to Horry's greatness and proceeded to buy his jersey haha.

  • I like that Hubie and Mike broadcasted at least one finals. They are a great broadcast team.

  • yo the crowd was gasping da minute robert horry was lefted open, they knew it was soon to be over and u know what, they were right.

  • Clutch baby [=

  • Rasheed. What WERE you thinking.

  • Forget ratings, this was the most intense Finals of this decade.

  • @Gold753

MABEY, i mean...2006 nba finals was such an upset.. like wow..Im a net fan and going in to that series i thought the only team that could beat the mavericks were the spurs, which they didnt do.. the finals i thought would be a joke, i thought dallas would win in 4, 5 at the most. they just had 2 many young players and 2 many shooters for the aging heat. but that game 3 comeback and a little luck in games 3,5, and6 helped pull out the biggest upset of the decade(excluding mavs in 07)

  • I agree. Ratings don't determine how good a series is. People just don't watch certain teams because when you watch ESPN, all you see are Lakers highlights, or Celtics all day long. So when two teams who aren't "preferred" by networks meet up, the ratings won't be as hot as they would even if the series is extremely good.

  • i remember goin to the airport after that game, that was one of the best times Ive had. GO SPURS

  • u said COACH, not who has more rings

brown is better, brown is phenomenal basketball mind i once read

"pop entered brown's office before a pivtal game 6 match between both teams, and brown was there sitting in his office.....

    reading a book"

  • brown

  • i really dont get whats so special about this

  • big mistake, imo

  • I love Robert Horry!

  • This series was the best Finals of this decade... Larry Brown was the better coach, but Tim Duncan was the best player. Just sit back and let him do what he does

  • I'd take Pop as a coach over Larry Brown any day.

There's no coach in sports that has a better relationship with his players, especialy his star players. The guy is a great coach.

  • There is no doubt that Pop is a great coach... He aint no Larry Brown but he's damn good and ur right, his players love him.

  • its a shame on the teams that larry brown coaches now. he should have stayed in detroit

  • Larry Brown isn't better than Popovich. Larry Brown has had so many teams be failures, it's embarrassing. Look at the players Spurs are turning into stars after being drafted at the dead end of the first round, or even in the second round. Popovich is a genius who's never lost a finals when he's gotten there. His team's record is over .700 for the past like dozen years now. Larry Brown's done what exactly that's better than Popovich?

  • @marcrib79 4 of the 7 games were blowouts so i will have to disagree with you on that statement this series was best Finals in the Decade...

  • @Samaro1986 both teams blew each other out in the first 4 games, the Spurs in the first 2 and the Pistons in the second 2... after that the final 3 games were very close... it was like a heavyweight fight, both teams hit each other in the mouth early and after that it was all about who wanted it more and who was gonna hit big shots... it was a fantastic series

  • @Samaro1986 finals of 2000-2004 were all blowout series. in 05 there was finally a 7 game series that was decided in the 4th quarter in game 7. in 06 the mavs just gave up & the heat won 4 straight. in 07 god lebron got his ass swept. in 08 Boston Dominated. in 09 Lkers dominated. & this years finals is kind of boring. i know its going to 7 games, but seeing the entire lakers team give up in so many games & the same with the celtics.too many fouls this year. i dont want to see the benches play.

  • @SAtownZ28 Well then, stop watching the game if it doesn't please you anymore :/

  • @TerraXD001 im not bored with the game. i was bored with the series. the rest of th playoffs were awsome.

  • @marcrib79 No. You were right about Brown but Horry was SO much better.

  • @marcrib79 yeah right, it was all blowouts. best lakers-celtics 2009.

  • @thesportsdude90 the first four games were blowouts, 2 blowouts per team, and the last 3 games were nailbiters. Lakers/Celtics was 2010 so it was part of another decade.

  • @marcrib79 ...no, not lakers-celtics 2010, lakers celtics 2009.

  • @thesportsdude90 2009 was Lakers - Magic, I know cuz I'm a Magic fan

    2008 Celtics beat Lakers 4-2

    2009 Lakers beat Magic 4-1

    2010 Lakers beat Celtics 4-3

  • @thesportsdude90 You mean 2008, when the Celtics won. The Lakers beat the Magic in 2009, and the Celtics in 2010.

  • @marcrib79 Better than Lakers vs. Celtics in 2008 and 2010??

  • @sumskater999 better than Lakers-Celtics 2008 but not better than in 2010... lol I said that before they palyed in 2010 so I'll take that back cuz that series was EPIC

  • lmao ohhh man, you can tell everyone in the arena knew what was gonna happen when horry got it

  • the funny this is everyone at the palace new what not to do (leave horry alone) and that's the first thing the pistons do

  • @lujavana Not only that, Hubie called it before the play was even drawn up.

  • Comment removed

  • @lujavana ikr! i was actually sorta hopin for the pistons to win back to back but they make the mistake of the game!

  • penetration was not the biggest problem cause the game would be tied with a 2 and pistons with the ball...you can't just allow 3's in that situation.

  • This is an even series, but the Spurs prevailed. Even though, Larry Brown is SLIGHTLY a better coach than Greg Popovich.

  • I'm a Magic fan but Larry Brown is probably the best coach in the history of Basketball... everywhere he's been, college or pro, he's won, plain and simple. He beat Phil Jackson, Shaq, Kobe, Karl Malone, and Gary Payton in one NBA Finals with no real star, good players, but no stars... that alone should tell u what u need to know.

  • What? larry Brown is a good Coach?

Pop is the best coach ever..

  • Larry Brown is the only coach to win in college and the pros... Larry Brown has taken every team he has coached to higher heights than before. Larry Brown can win with any team.

  • hoory is a beast he will appear when you need him, always

  • How could they leave Big Shot Bob open???!!!

  • it's big shot Rob

  • Manu's more dangerous in terms of penetration. Rasheed was afraid he'd get to the hoop.

  • This is one of the most underrated plays! Maybe because it wasnt lakers vs. celtics.

  • Thats all it was, if it were him winning it for LA and the series basically that would run all the time! Since it was SA they don't show it as much!

  • they still had 5.9 seconds.

  • LEAVE some one but not BIG SHOT ROB he's not called BIG SHOT for nothing

  • who leaves Horry open? that is unacceptable.

  • Sheed, the same idiot who Elliot shot over to have the memorial day mircale in 99. He must hate the Spurs lol, I swear he does.

He wants to play with Tim now though he says, wonder why?

  • cause he wants to play with the BEST power forward to ever play the game. its the same reason why kobe, shaq, carter, malone, & lebron wanted to come to spurs at one time. hell even scotty pippen wanted to come out of retirement to play with tim.

  • Yeah Tim is that dude! My fave ever.

  • that was dumb of rasheed, you dont leave will smith open, i mean robert horry. you cant say that dude dont look like him

  • They got sweep now.

  • we should've never traded away billups.

but i still have fatih that we can bounce back next year. so long as everyone stays healthy

  • Hubie Brown is so intelligent he is a machine

  • Hubie's awesome. He has a great voice for announcing. Also he coached the Knicks and I am a New Yorker so that is how I started to like him. Him and Mike Tirico=Perfection. :)

  • Hubie Brown's a beast...He says don't leave "Horry on the top" open, and when Detroit does, Horry drains it.

  • Hubie Brown is one of the best basketball minds in the world. I always appreciate his insight...

  • Hubie is so great at broacasting he never take a team and becomes biased aganst the other...he breaks it down to both teams X's and O's!

  • What is the name of this song?

  • the thing about that shot is it wasn't even a clean shot... the ball hit the back rim. That baby could have rimmed out.

  • number 1 and number 25 are my favorite!

  • Whats the Song in the background??? RESPND

  • the spurs are one of the greatest teams coached by Greg P. i have ever seen.

  • this one is on rasheed...crazy man didn't stick to the defensive plan. why the hell he went trapping manu in the corner when prince was already there challenging manu.

  • thank god he victimized almost every team in big game situations...and not just the kings!

  • 2005...

    Best.

    Finals.

    Ever.

    EPIC!!!

  • you gotta love this guy he's a life saver damn

  • He certainly saved Duncan's ass. TD was choking away this game by missing FTs as well as the potential game-winner at the end of regulation.

  • Spurs fan here, and Tim played great in game 7, but yes he did save Timmay that night. That was unlike Tim that night, he was choking his azz of late and I remember even cursing him for that although I am one of his biggest fans! Horry saved the day that day, he came like a hero for them.

  • Double OT and the teams are still below 100 points. I loved this championship matchup.

  • will smith does it again

  • This guy is off the charts.

  • I hated when Robert left the Lakers, but you gotta love this guy.

  • this is my favorite play ever!

  • hehe manu with LONG HAIR <3

  • and by that you mean, beardless jesus

  • They had 5 seconds to make a hoop, they deserved to lose, if there was .5 or something left on the clock OK, but 5 seconds...

  • sheed made a bonehead play...still, detroit took that series to 7 games. When I saw Horry shooting that ball, I swear I saw it in slow motion in my mind, couldnt believe it. by the way, detroit basketball!

  • They still had 5.5 seconds to make a bucket.

  • what was sheed thinking????!!!

  • why would you leave of all people Robert Horry open for a game winning shot in the Finals

  • exactly

  • they didn't mean to. it was a beautifully designed play. when Ginobili caught it in the corner it's an easy trap and that's what they tried. the spurs anticipated this and had horry just step in for an open 3. that was genius.

  • why would you trap, when the baseline is your friend?

  • if ginobili is in the corner a moment longer or prince get's there a little bit earlier it woulda been a turnover or a timeout. if it's just 1 person guarding on the baseline it is relatively easy to get to the basket. especially with ginobili, who is a gametime player himself. yes, you know horry can beat you but obviously the pistons know ginobili can beat them too by his ballhandling so they had to get it out of his hands. if prince get's there a little bit earlier he is dead in the corner...

  • this is the same in principle to a half court trap. when somebody brings the ball across one of the corners you trap the ball with two players using the backcourt line and the OOB line as the third and fourth men.

  • thank you for copying what i said.

  • how did i copy what you said? how is it even possible with my response being way longer

  • This play decided the finals

  • It sure did cause if Detroit wins that game they win the series in probably the 6th game

  • trick play. thats going in my playbook!

  • come back to the rockets big shot rob

  • come back home to clutch city

  • my favorite 1 is when he was with LA that 1 was crazy

  • BIG SHOT BOB

  • I said it when it happened and I'll say it again, "FUCK YOU ROBERT HORRY!"

  • Hubie brown is basketball at its finest hour..

Btw, Cheap Shot Rob to the rescue

    Had to say it ;)

  • BIG SHOT BOB IN IN TOWN ha ha lol

  • Horry for three OO my this guy Unbelievable ! This guy is off the charts lol

  • gotta love it. i saw this actually, but i wanted detroit to win.

  • another Big shot for Horry!

  • awesome commentator

  • yeah Hubie Brown is so smart. he's awesome
