I think Kari is one of the hottest women on TV. However, to me the things that make her sexy are her girl next door good looks, her brains, and her technical abilities. The gal can do things like welding, and she uses tools like tools, not like props. I once saw some cheesecake pictures of her, and I found them disappointing because (to me) they reduced her to the status of just another pretty airhead. I think she is hottest in jeans, a T-shirt, and with a welding torch in her hands.

@Nefus1988 with a normal parachute there would still be a dead zone of 10-200m over the ground. thats without taking into account the time it would take to get unstrapped from the vehicle. if you use a parachute made for base jumping you could reduce the dead zone to like 10-35m at best, in other words if your engine failed at 25m above the ground you would have almost a 100% chance of dying.

wouldn't they want to use a hovercraft thrust prop instead of a lift fan? yes lift fan has lift in the name but for those out there that have made or owned a hovercraft, the lift fan only fills the skirt to "lift" the hovercraft up a little, while the thrust prop actually pushes air to move. i feel like the thrust prop might have been the simple thing they were looking for. i plan on trying to make one of these "jetpacks" and would love feedback. thanks

tisk tisk you guys bult a jet pack but changed the moter but did you change the fan size it dont mater if you have 10,000 hp on this unit 6000 rpm is still 6000 rpm but if you swap with larger fans or change pully sizing to use the hp that you have you will gain more lift lts say you have 3o hp turning a 2' fan at 6000 rpm a 60 hp should get 9-10,000 rpm at the fan the same works for boat props and gearing

I love Mythbusters, but they pretend to be scientists too often and they are builders, welders, model makers and all you wish, but not scientists.

More often than not what they are trying to do the answer is obvious but they try anyway because they ignore the science behind it.

Don't forget one is an actor and loves the camera.

The fact that they are not officially "scientists" does not mean they should be treated as second class citizens. It all boils down to what we both believe the term scientist means - for me they are closer to to the term and for you they are probably further from it.

Still, their benefit is positive. And that's what counts.
