My parents own a big bernise moutain dog :) we've had him for about 6 years now and he's so funny he thinks he's a little lap dog even tho he's like almost 200 pounds he's so BIG he's like a fluffe bear :) Love this vid, furry friends are the best :)

When I got a puppy, the litter my husband and I went to see had just sold out, but they had another litter we could look at and pick one out for when they were ready in a couple more weeks. My dog was the only puppy that came up to me instead of hiding in the corner. She's such a spaz and I love it because she's not the bad kind that chews everything, but she's so fun to play with. She's like my baby and I don't know what I'd do without her.
I had to pause this so many times to go hug my sweet baby Jasmine. She's a black lab and super sweet. I love her so much it brings tears to my eyes. I know that sounds crazy.
I loved watching this. The first video I watched of yours you showed Jake and Lucy. Since you loved goldens I knew you were a good person and I ve been watching ever since. I miss my golden, she passed a few years back. Now I have a chihuahua and he is the joy of my life.

i know i've mentioned this before, but it's so funny to watch these videos because my name is lucy and my brother's name is jake...so it's strange/funny to hear you repeat those names over and over about animals :)

Omg! My husband and I had to move to Japan 16months ago, and had to give away our 2 cats because of extremely strict quarantine rules we did not have the heart to put them through. We have found them the best family. Watching your video reminds how much I miss them. I am crying like a baby... The quirky things they do is what got me. I loved having pets, had them most of my life, and will have more once I know we won't be moving around so much. Thank you for sharing, love watching your vids
I'm a dog person like you Michelle, lived with them all my life. That being said I usually get annoyed when people's pets become the 'centre of their universe' (if that makes sense) and their pets are all they wanna talk about. (Not saying it's your case though).
But seeing you with Jakers just warms my heart and it's just freaking adorable! You seem like you're taking really great care of him and it somehow shows on your videos.
I've only had girl dogs too! My fiance and I are decided to get a puppy and we're stuck on whether it will be a boy or a girl but you've convinced me to be OK with getting a boy dog. Maybe he will turn out as sweet as Jake :)
Awe i love Jake!! I have a golden retriever named Max! And like Jake, he's a 90 pound lap dog! He loves sitting in my lap on the couch and sleeping on my bed it night! Don't you just love golden retrievers!!
ahw hearing you talk about Jake is so heartwarming. For a couple of years and still on going Golden Retrievers had been my favourite breed, up until i guess a 3-4 years ago i started to have an adoration for Huskies as well. <3 super cute. (: i'm hoping to get one and do lots of research for a good breeder in the future when i do live out of my parents home.
goldens are great! i had a yellow lab growing up named molly, and my current dog is a yellow-golden mix (we think, we got her from the humane society) named lucy! great dog names! jake is an amazing dog, we are all so lucky to have such sweet puppies!

I love this story. I have been a dog person to, unlike my two sisters how have been cat person. I had two dogs my whole life. My last dog lived 15 human years and it also hit my mom hard. I now live with my boyfriend, also name Nick, and his not a dog person. I’m dying to have a dog, but because his not a dog person it’s so hard to get him to agree. Maybe if I keep pushing the idea. All I want this time is a small dog. Glad it worked out for you and Jake. =)
a longgg time ago my 5 year old brother, then about 4, saw jake in a video when he was watching youtube with me, and since he loves to get down on all fours and pretend to be a dog called jakers, and will only answer to jakers! haha i bet he'll love this video :) x
My doxie died back in March. She would have been 17 in May. They bring such joy in our lives. Maybe one day I'll get another dog but right now, I just can't. :(

@PinkyLadybird he was crate trained in the beginning, but now he is fine. Either Nick or I will come home at lunch to let him out and play with him. And when my mom is off she comes and gets him. They also have doggy daycares!

We go hiking every weekend with our dog, it's us and a bunch of other people and their dogs. I've never seen a white golden retriever before and never even knew there were other colors. But, go figure, it was right after I saw this video that I saw my first white golden! One of the women had two goldens and one of them was white, I never would've known it was a golden retriever had it not been for this video. :P
awwww, this video made me so sad my male golden retriever passed away about a year ago and I COMPLETELY agree about male golden retriever. I want one to be around especially when I eventually decide to have a family they are just so sweet and adorable!
@iheartchoo2 I know this wasn't addressed to me but I figured I'd share what I do anyhow, in case it helps. :P We bring our dog to daycare during the day. :) She plays all morning then has lunch/nap/rest time and then plays all afternoon until we pick her up. For us it's $20/day so it's not that cheap but IMO it's worth it, I can't imagine having her be all alone for 8 hrs a day.
@iheartchoo2 Jake is fine now that he is older, but we did crate train him for the first year. To this day either Nick or I come home at lunch time and take him out and run around with him. A lot of people take their doggies to puppy day care too, that is always an option! And when my mom has off she comes and picks Jake up!
@iheartchoo2 yes he does...however Nick or I come home everyday and let him out at lunch time. Also my mom is off 2 days a week so she comes and gets him a lot so him and Lucy can play. We crate trained him in the beginning when he was a puppy and we were at work. Now hes a good boy and knows what he should and shouldn't be doing, lol.

Amen to everything you've said. Dogs really love you unconditionally. When our pug died we got a new one within a week. The silence in the house was unbearable. Jimmy now is 3,5 and we love him to death. He goes on vacantions with us and everything. I would post a videoresponse but I am a bit too shy! Love from Belgium!
My German Shepherd Lola passed away about 5 months ago, she was my first dog and we had her for 10 years so I basically grew up with her, it's so hard to live without a pet when you were so used to having one around all the time , my parents break my heart every time they tell me no to getting another one. Seeing Jake in your videos sometimes pretty much makes my day! Haha
Aww this vid is soo cute! it is soo true what you talk about pet's inconditional love. I have had that with my 2 cats (i am more of a cat person but i love all animals) and when i look at them i juts feel soo much tenderness thowards them. Once they have given you their love and trust you will never loose it..thats why hurting an animal is one of the worst crimes ever for me. Since i have had my cats i feel i won't be able to live without a pet anymore..i just NEED a cat or a dog arround

I have never smiled so much watching a video. I have a 3 year old golden retriever named Dusty and everything you said in this video relates to him. Dusty is seriously my life and means so much to me.
I have a shih_tzu, Kandy /female and she is a good girl ... mostly interested in treats and people .. I also have a Yorkie , his name is Rufus.. he is interested in mommy and makeup brushes .. He ONLY plays with the brushes and not the 100000 dog toys I have purchased him!!! He watches me closely when I put on my makeup in the morning .. He is a mama's boy! Rufus is more kissy kissy than Kandy - I have to agree with you on the male/female dog - Unconditional love is the bestest <3
Sometimes you get the pet you were meant to have even if you don't know it at the time. A very similar thing happened when I picked out my last dog and I wouldn't go back and trade a single day! No one loves you as good as a good dog.

Females love you, but the males are IN love with you. I got my dad an English Cream like Jake when he retired and that dog has got to be the most wonderful dog my family has ever had and that's saying a lot since my mother was in the dog business with a different breed for 20+ years. I see so many similarities between Jake and our dog, it's awesome :D

soooo funny....my 2nd female golden. My 1st was there when I was in a car accident, gone for 3 months. When I got home she was so happy... like crying happy. She had to be put down... it was horrible!!!! but my female now is 2yrs old b/c my family just coukdn't be without. she is like your shadow or velcro. She has to be on you... its funny. She smiles too...its b/c her jowles hang low. great vid!

this is by far one of my most favorite videos from you :) It's so crazy how so many of us can relate to the love you have for your pet. You seriously, LIGHT UP, when talking about Jake. I do the same when people ask and I get to talk about my pup. We are so blessed. Take care :)

We go hiking every weekend with our dog, it's us and a bunch of other people and their dogs. I've never seen a white golden retriever before and never even knew there were other colors. But, go figure, it was right after I saw this video that I saw my first white golden! One of the women had two goldens and one of them was white, I never would've known it was a golden retriever had it not been for this video. :P

awwww, this video made me so sad my male golden retriever passed away about a year ago and I COMPLETELY agree about male golden retriever. I want one to be around especially when I eventually decide to have a family they are just so sweet and adorable!

@iheartchoo2 I know this wasn't addressed to me but I figured I'd share what I do anyhow, in case it helps. :P We bring our dog to daycare during the day. :) She plays all morning then has lunch/nap/rest time and then plays all afternoon until we pick her up. For us it's $20/day so it's not that cheap but IMO it's worth it, I can't imagine having her be all alone for 8 hrs a day.

@iheartchoo2 Jake is fine now that he is older, but we did crate train him for the first year. To this day either Nick or I come home at lunch time and take him out and run around with him. A lot of people take their doggies to puppy day care too, that is always an option! And when my mom has off she comes and picks Jake up!

@iheartchoo2 yes he does...however Nick or I come home everyday and let him out at lunch time. Also my mom is off 2 days a week so she comes and gets him a lot so him and Lucy can play. We crate trained him in the beginning when he was a puppy and we were at work. Now hes a good boy and knows what he should and shouldn't be doing, lol.

Amen to everything you've said. Dogs really love you unconditionally. When our pug died we got a new one within a week. The silence in the house was unbearable. Jimmy now is 3,5 and we love him to death. He goes on vacantions with us and everything. I would post a videoresponse but I am a bit too shy! Love from Belgium!

My German Shepherd Lola passed away about 5 months ago, she was my first dog and we had her for 10 years so I basically grew up with her, it's so hard to live without a pet when you were so used to having one around all the time , my parents break my heart every time they tell me no to getting another one. Seeing Jake in your videos sometimes pretty much makes my day! Haha

Aww this vid is soo cute! it is soo true what you talk about pet's inconditional love. I have had that with my 2 cats (i am more of a cat person but i love all animals) and when i look at them i juts feel soo much tenderness thowards them. Once they have given you their love and trust you will never loose it..thats why hurting an animal is one of the worst crimes ever for me. Since i have had my cats i feel i won't be able to live without a pet anymore..i just NEED a cat or a dog arround

I have a shih_tzu, Kandy /female and she is a good girl ... mostly interested in treats and people .. I also have a Yorkie , his name is Rufus.. he is interested in mommy and makeup brushes .. He ONLY plays with the brushes and not the 100000 dog toys I have purchased him!!! He watches me closely when I put on my makeup in the morning .. He is a mama's boy! Rufus is more kissy kissy than Kandy - I have to agree with you on the male/female dog - Unconditional love is the bestest <3

Sometimes you get the pet you were meant to have even if you don't know it at the time. A very similar thing happened when I picked out my last dog and I wouldn't go back and trade a single day! No one loves you as good as a good dog.

u are so right about the gender of the dog..same goes with cats..I have a female cat and she's like so friggin stuck up haha,.my friend has a male cat and it always wants to cuddle and sit on you lap and stuff..my cat just runs away from u whenever u get near her..uggh -.-" Jakers is sooooo adorable!!!!!!

Females love you, but the males are IN love with you. I got my dad an English Cream like Jake when he retired and that dog has got to be the most wonderful dog my family has ever had and that's saying a lot since my mother was in the dog business with a different breed for 20+ years. I see so many similarities between Jake and our dog, it's awesome :D

soooo funny....my 2nd female golden. My 1st was there when I was in a car accident, gone for 3 months. When I got home she was so happy... like crying happy. She had to be put down... it was horrible!!!! but my female now is 2yrs old b/c my family just coukdn't be without. she is like your shadow or velcro. She has to be on you... its funny. She smiles too...its b/c her jowles hang low. great vid!
