Cool video. Standardbreds are very misunderstood. My 7 yr old standardbred just started doing a running walk. Anyone know if this is customary for standardbreds?

Yes don't worry. If you mean he is doing this while riding and you just got him, then it should stop when he learns how fast each gate goes.

@SquireofGlenhall depends.... if they are full standardbred i dont rember any of them doin a running walk. but i have saw some that resemble rackin ghorses. i have one thats full standardbred but he acts more like a walking horse. came off the track and everything. but i guess they can have any gait,.

Everything I say! Before I got my Standardbred, people said that this breed just wants to run and is out of control. Well my horse is awesome and every Standardbred I've met is awesome!

yea,I use to help out at a rescue/foster home for SRF,she had lots of them & most of them where so calm & gentle.I love this breed.
