Does that baffle make it tollerable for long rides? Or is it still very loud? I like the exhaust but its hard finding one that looks good and isn't abnoxiously loud =/
everyone has there own level of noise tolerance so its hard to say..i noticed a big difference between riding with the baffle and without the baffle so i chose to keep the baffle in...carry some ear plugs with you and for long rides earplugs are a must!
@GT1Racer2... completely agree with jmacR6. i took the baffles out of my gsxr600 on my LOR racing exhaust and it was stupid loud! i would just leave your baffle in.. its still loud and sounds amazing!!!
Im thinking about getting this exhaust for my R6S. without the baffle, you can really hear that purrrrrr. But honestly, with the baffle it sounds really healthy. Any noticeable performance improvements?
i just put it on the bike and the revs bounce when its cold but after its warm they stay steady.. and i heard this exhaust is right around 105 db's? does anyone know. and then does anyone know where to check for your state/city what the legal limit is?
I'm just stating that, I have the same exhaust with no DB killer...it's loud as fuck. But it sounds great, no one will not know I'm in their blink spot when I'm passing them.
thats EXACTLY what i thought yesterday i was coming home on the freeway cruising at about 75 this silverado pulls along side of me and literaly started merging over almost pushed me off the rode... thats also considering i had my red L.E.Ds on and my highbeams on.... felt like smacking his rear view mirror off
He must of had his radio turned way up. I've had guys I ride with complain that they can't hear their bikes for mine. Keep a pocket full of pennies, if they cut you off...chunk them bitches. I've done it once already. Gets the point across quit well.
maybe, maybe not. if you notice your revs bouncing at idle after the bike is warmed up, then order the baffle, that will fix that problem. but ive been reading about it and not many people have that problem so you should be good
So you have had the exhaust on the bike for about a year now, right? How's it holding up? I've got an '05 R6, and I am looking around at what exhausts are available, and then I came across this one on Ebay.
yoooooo!!!! I just got that thing on my bike, Holy shiiiiitttt dude!! that thing is louder than I though man! is there any way to make it quieter? lol Cops here nyc are anal about that crap.
So I'm gonna buy this pipe for my 08 R6S. Do you have a Power Commander?
Are you really satisfied with this pipe? You're the only one here who has the that pipe on the same bike I have so thats why Im asking.. I dont wanna spend $300 for the hell of it you know.
to answer you other question , no i dont have a power commander. if you are going to be running it without a power commander i would HIGHLY recommend getting the DB killer. when i run the bike without the db killer in it idles really weird, but with the dbkiller on it idles fine. dont worry about the sound either because it sounds great either way..its kind of hard to tell in the video. if u have any other questions feel free to ask
if you are going to run no exhaust you would need to install a power commander to adjust the air to fuel ratios. and i would recommend a good set of ear plugs because it is EXTREMELY LOUD and also be ready for lots of tickets due to noise pollution. lol seriously though try taking the can off and start the bike up...im sure you wouldnt even want it that loud
This exhaust is AWESOME!! I just got an '05 R6 and I put on this same exhaust, however they didn't send me the db killer (it's ok, I wouldn't use it anyway). I just ride around without it. You're right about the idle w/o the db killer, it bounces at idle without the power commander. Considering the price, loudness, and quality of sound from this exhaust, I would definitely rate it as #1. $300!!! You can't beat that...
as far as i know. the level one exhaust isnt street legal...but i highly doubt i would get a ticket for it..so technically you can get rid of the muffler, but it wouldnt be legal. and if you do ride around with no muffler at all, im certain you will get in trouble...thats how loud it is.
try taking the exhaust off to see what it would sound like. its so loud its unbareable.
from what i hear, cbr's are the most uncomfortable sportbikes out there, mainly because of their seat. iv never ridden a cbr so i dont know how the handling or comfort is on it, but as for the R6s, it is comfortable and the handling is spot on. i have no complaints. if i were you i would recommend going to the dealership and sitting on both bikes to see which one is more comfortable you. if this is your first bike..go with something smaller. ninja 250, 500, sv650, or suzuki 500. trust me

@Alynu112 no it doesn't only the 05 has inverted forks on the 2nd gen.
you're either confused or thinking of the R6V.

You're not suppose to exceed 86db on a motorcycle's exhaust. That would be the federal restriction.

you have to buy the dbkiller seperate..i think it was like $15 or something..i forget
but yea..this is THE exhaust to have. like u said price, loudness/sound, and quality are unbeatable

nice video. Do you have power commander installed as well?
oromobiker 3 years ago
not at the moment. with the baffle installed it doesnt seem to affect the back pressure too much, but without the baffle the rpms bounce at idle
