@MasterOfBastards it worked for me just go to 1 side then turn a lil the keep blowing bubbles and jumping and thanks adamdawes! it rly worked! i owe ALOT to u <3
@MasterOfBastards It definitely is possible on the arcade version (this would be a lot of effort for me to go to for a joke!). If you can't do it on any other version then it's just a poor conversion.
On the X360, don't turn while standing on the ground. Put yourself as close as possible to the left wall, jump and tap right in air. The guy turns without sliding along the floor. When you land you should be able to blow bubbles to jump on now.
I played this on the C64 and this level took me like a fuckin day to pass. Because there is like NO WAY you can blow bubbles that not burst into the walls. I played with cheatmode and even then it was terrible. Made it all the way to last level but I got borred then so I didnt finish it. Level 72 is frustating for everyone who owned a c64.
Found this video when TEARING MY HAIR OUT over level 72 on Bubble Bobble Plus on the Wii. I don't care what any of the other commenters have said - this *is* harder than the arcade version by far. The problem is, you can't put your player up against the left wall closely enough to provide bubbling space like you can in your video. As soon as you face right, you move away from the wall.
Cue two knackered Wii remotes I HULK-SMASH'd this afternoon.
I've not played the Wii version so this may not work, but this is very useful for the arcade version: if you want to change direction without moving, walk to the wall, jump and then tap the opposite direction while you are in the air. Your movement is very much slower while in the air so you barely move at all. Try it and see if it helps! There are lots more tips like this in the full game guide on my website.
That's a real shame -- it sounds like they have broken the fundamental mechanism of the game then. The workings of Bubble Bobble are very subtle and changing them can render it unplayable. I'm guessing the Wii version is some kind of "enhanced" rewrite then, and not just emulating the arcade version?
It's "enhanced". It's got 2.5D graphics, and few extra game modes (including a whole new set of levels). It's actually very good. Except for this bit :(
I know you posted a month ago. PLease tell me you figured out a way around it. Since its based on the arcade, there is no saving and no password. I'd like to play another game on my Wii sometime. ; ;
I can´t remember having problems with this level in the original version. But in Bubble Bobble Plus for the Wii....OMG!! It will make you wanna cut your own hands off and eat them, just to be sure you wont play it ever again.
Oh sorry, i meant the NES version, not the arcade. Don´t know the difference between the two, because í´ve never played the arcade version, but as far as i can remember, there were no levels as evil as this one, on the NES.
i like this level!

In old days I played 1-100 level on c64 without any live loss and this is easy stage on c64.

Omfg, I spent forever trying to figure that out! Never could! I always got killed by those stinkin ghosts.
It made me cry. Then i figured out how to have lightning bolts. Shit made the game too east.

Yep - I know exactly what you mean, but you can't do that in the Wii version. As soon as you face right, you move right. Even doing what you say.

It can be done on the wii version though it seems like it is much more difficult to pull off.

omorfiaxo in reply to FirriTriah (Show the comment) 2 years ago
@deKayyt I've done it. you need to jump, turn, and blow a bubble.
BubbleRev in reply to deKayyt (Show the comment) 1 year ago
@deKayyt Use DPAD and do a quick left right, that worked for me on XB360

This level on that horrible Bubble Bobble Plus remake is no harder than it is on the Arcade version.

I've just tried the NES version and level 72 is easier than either the Arcade or BB+ on the wii.

Yeah, i haven´t played it for a couple of years, but then my memory didn´t fail me :)

You can read about the technique used to "climb the walls" in the full level guide on my site, at adamdawes dot com.
Make sure you read the "Getting started" page, which explains this technique and many others that are useful then playing the game.
