Hi! I am trying Polyphasic Sleep and recording all my results, and how I'm feeling. I am specifically doing the Dymaxion Sleep Schedule(2hours a day) which is every 6 hours, you sleep for 30minutes. I discuss tips that I have found out from experience that can make the experience way easier to accomplish! Sorry if you call this spam, I thought that if your watching Polyphasic Sleep videos on youtube, you might want to read about my experience as well. I feel great!
I've never accomplished Dymaxion or any type of polyphasic sleep before but I am trying a new route.
For the past week, I've been sleeping two 30 minute naps and two 1.5 hour naps. I'm hitting REM everytime. I figure, I'll tackle the random sleeping now and then, in 2 weeks, cut back the 1.5 hour naps to 30 minutes as gradually as needed.
After doing some research, it looks like polyphasic is really just not healthy long-term. But I would still do it again if I could (I did everyman for 6 months or so), and definitely recommend that people try it. You will learn a lot and have some interesting and worthwhile experiences. My favorite time of the day is 4am on weekdays when everyone else is asleep :) The sensation of your life being one long day rather than a bunch of smaller ones is...
...is also interesting. The only two things I didn't like about polyphasic: Most people don't think about it this way, but sleep is like an emotional "reset" button. When you go to sleep for 8 hours and wake up, it's a new fresh day.
Also it just wears you down working so hard at something everyone else takes for granted. I took emergency naps in a lot of restaurant bathrooms or in the car seat at rest stops on the highway.
If your big problem is with the core naps, why not try the uberman?
The big problem with Uberman, for me, was just fitting my schedule around it (which is why I did everyman). But I imagine Dymaxion is juat as rigid - and by that I mean you can't move the naps around at all - as the uberman is.
But if your schedule permits it, why not try that instead? Unless the sole reason you're doing this is to prove that Dymaxion is possible.
In your first video you say you have trouble with everyman because of the core naps. It takes 2 weeks or even longer to truly adjust to the everyman, and I think you didn't give it enough time. Since everyman is more flexible than uberman, it seems to take the body longer to figure out what's going on.
Your difficulty waking up from core naps could also have something to do with timing... If your alarm wakes you up in the middle of a cycle obviously you'll feel groggy.
i highly recommend that anyone doing Dymaxion hold their turds in also. It will magnify the euphoria.

11:30pm-1am, 5:30am-7am, 12-12:30pm, and 6-6:30pm.
So far so good. Good luck, maybe give this way a chance? PS: boredom is NOT good. Find a hobby?
