  • music holds great power, it can give courage, or take it away, it can give good moral or bad. listening to the lyrics of my peers favorite songs, i no longer why their self-respect, respect for all living beings, respect for nature and morals are so low. thank you catbrush for posting these.

you are a great loss John, especially now in this culture.

  • He had a free spirit. like the Irish Gypsy's -music and song!

  • Fantastic john,,,,,we miss you.

  • i love this song among many others that john denver sang - im learning to sing some of his stuff myself but im struggling to find sheet music for this one with the piano or guitar part. =D love it tho.

  • iOlga50: sorry for my last post. Just wanted to tell that we played this song during the funeral of my mother in law. It was our son's idea and he came up with this song when we almost finished the whole idea of the ceremony. We were so happy his mentioned this song. It completed all she was...

  • Can't remember the first time I heard John denver on a recording, but I remember the first time I heard this song. It was like a voice in the darkness of my childhood. Like a bright star in Heaven. He died just a few years later. Always been a fan. One of the few things I took with me out of that life.

  • Beautiful video for a beautiful song. Thanks for sharing this..

  • such a beautiful song, words so true. i am 13 and i really love this song and his music. i always listen to this when i am sad as it helps me to realise that good can shatter bad. i wish i could have seen him, to see him live would have been a great honor. when i feel lost, myself i cant find, he is there, etched in my mind. there he'll stay, for as long as i live, and explanation, i cannot give. i wrote that for him when i was younger, i just thought i'd share it :)
  • @eliotfan1 Thank you so much for sharing your lovely words with me. :-) Hope you have a very happy Christmas!

  • This man touched my life - he expressed my spirit - for many years I sang his songs because I could - and they helped me to express my heart . When he had gone I had to find my own words ..... and I found he had written them all.

love , life , peace ..... but more importantly ... we share this place with the rest of the world

  • So touching... It was sad, that John died on my birthday.. thanks for uploading this beautiful song.

  • John Denver died when I was 13. He was an Amazing artist I was absolutely devastated shame it was so over shadowed by the death of princess Di 2 months previous. He will always be a legend!

  • You're so right about his not so well known songs. I talk to friends and they say oh yeah Rocky Monuntain High, but they miss We Don't Live Here Anymore, Angel form Montogemery, and the one I'm stuck on now The Ballard of Darcy Farrow.

  • Absolutely beautiful ! I miss hearing John's voice ! I always feel a peace when I listened to his wonderful storytelling and music !

  • The other day my friend at soccer practice was singing this song and I just had to look up the original, it's so beautiful

  • Awesome! big fan

  • I grew up listening to John Denver. my dad is a huge fan, and whenever my dad listens to him, i always sing along. my dad made me a tape when i was little, and this was the song i always wanted to listen to first. i am only 12 now, yet i know almost all of his songs. he died the year i was born, so i never had a chance to see him, but he seemed like he was so caring and loving of nature and his fans. to this day i am still so upset that he died, and i hope he rests in peace. amazing song(:

  • @edwardcullenlover602 Thank you so much for your lovely comment. It maks me smile to know that John Denver's music now lives in your young heart thanks to your Dad. My own daughter ( who is in this video and some of my other videos) is also a fan from childhood from listening to his music playing in the car on the way to school. She is now 24. I recommend you have a listen to his not so well known songs... they are amazing too. :-)

  • @catbrush123 I wish there were alot more kids who listen to John Denver too. he has great songs, and teaches that you should always take care of the world, and has beautiful music. we always listen to his cds in the car when we are traveling and i love singing along to it. i will listen to a lot of his other songs too(:

  • Lovely!

  • i love this song very much!

this song reminds me of two places; a japanese coutryside where i was born and grew up, and parc de mont royal in montreal and the red woods in fall of quebec, i've ever traveled.

  • Somehow I missed this one when I was younger. I always loved John Denver's voice, and this song is right on the money with the words!

  • Excellent!!! Thank you Catbrush!!

  • Love this song. Thanks for sharing. Monday the 12th makes 12 years since we lost our beloved John. His music lives on!!! RIP John!!!

  • lovely song...from lovely voice

  • Such a beautiful song <3<3<3<3<3

  • I'm new to YT, but must say that your video images are so "right on" for the music you feature, Catbrush! John D. sought to teach people all over the world that we have much in common despite any differences. Isn't it interesting that his music is still introducing people from all over the world to one another? BTW, your images of the children with the dogs are so touching - made me smile. Love and tolerance - it's what we all need, eh?

  • Thank you very much. I too believe that people are much the same across the globe, the same worries and just doing ones best to live and let live. J D's music just brings us all together. :-)

  • Thank you, Catbrush, for this beautiful video to match such a stunningly beautiful John Denver song! My first concert was JD, and his music has left its mark on my heart and soul ever since. Peace to you and to all, and most of all to Johnny D!
