@skinnydoggyz dude there's a lot more of this crazy music out there(even crazier) like nuclear rabbit, of course mr. bungle(in fact any mike patton band) estradasphere, crotchduster(funny as fuck, and insane tempo transitions) of course frank zappa and the mothers of invention, foxy shazam(their old stuff is crazy, but the new stuff is poppy, yet still cool) of montreal is awesome too, their old stuff sounds like psychedelic beatles......technical wise, animals as leaders, behold....the arctopus
@xxxslayerxxx666 the residents are also one of my top favorite bands, i haven't heard of most those bands you listed i don't dig of montreal a whole lot, but i can recommend beefheart and the residents, along with tom waits miles davis and diagram brothers those are my favorite bands to date.
@skinnydoggyz you should listen to dog fashion disco, polkadot cadaver and el creepo!.....but since you seem to like instrumental based stuff(cause of the miles davis) you would like quadro nuevo and tin hat trio....also mondo cane....the residents are so sadistic sounding in a disturbing melancholic sort of way....i never thought that music can have a traumatizing feel to it! since you like them you'd love fantomas...in fact almost any band from the ipecac record label!
@skinnydoggyz ohhh yeah, and albert ayler is a pioneer in freestyle jazz....he's even classified as avant-garde....but if you want to find bands that sound like the bands you like you can either go to pandora(dot)com or just go to google and type in bands that sound like ______ and then last(dot)fm should show up, cause it's tricky getting to the similar artists search from their website for some reason, but they have every single band that has ever existed.
@thewhitezombie666 THe world would be a happier place if everyone could get a little Mr. Bungle in their lives. I've been a fan since I was 12, I'm 23 now.
@sociopathix Les sounds like The Residents singer, that's about it. He doesn't hide it either, covering 3 Residents songs with Primus. Alice Cooper? Retarded.
yeah and once this song gets in your head, it never leaves. It randomly pops into my head and I cant help but singing it somewhat aloud anywhere I might be.
Its fun to listen to, and Im sure its a blast to play.
Had the pleasure of seeing Claypool 3 times in the past month. I agree, this is probably one of the best Brigade songs to hear live. Keep up the good work, Les!
Man I need to get more Les. I listened to this CD least twice a day for a month when it came out. Then once a day. Belonged to a roommate. So his Les collection stayed w/him. I'm starting to really love youtube.
they were riffing on this shit for straight 45 minutes at the warfield last night. there was a glockenspiel v. drumkit duet/battle for like ten minutes and then they came back to the chorus and i was like holy shit they're still on this song. crazy show though- the opening band had the weirdest "pit" ever. the whole crowd was just swaying bizzarely...
