The whole thing started in 1878 when the first zionist conferennce was convened in Basille, Switzerland, led by Theodor Herzl. It was proclaimed from there on that Palestine would be the "land of the Jews". Even before the turn of the 21st century, Eastern European Jews (the Ashkenazi) were dispossessing the Palestinians.
