  • Is this the 2003 re-release? I like this mix, puts a lot of the emphasis on the vocals, which are great here!

  • 1 justin bieber fan

  • @SeanAmundsenIsSexy just stay on this music and you might be ok

  • I picked up this album along with a Steve Miller vinyl in the fall of 66...my first intro into the West coast idea.

  • @reefrunner9 ? Steve Miller's first album was released in 1968...

  • off the hook

  • you guys are too lucky i was too young to catch a show, i mean i went to the benefit tour for obama (which was still extremely exciting) but it'd have been nice to see jerry

  • Smoked my first joint to this album, went the Height in 1967 and well you know the rest.

  • In high school in Petaluma, while the other kids were hanging out in town, we used to hitch, drive, or take the Greyhound to the City every Friday night and be at the Avalon Ballroom when the doors opened (3$) and stay til it was over. Grateful Dead was the house band in those days (67-69) and honestly we used to say " oh shit the Dead again?" But of course we seriously loved them and still do. The earliest stuff especially this album is some of the best. BIG THANKS Dominator!!!

  • @FragPedalQuad I was there too. Standing in line and folks coming by and saying Acid , Grass Mescaline and the free apples and the cool cops. Man them were the days. Yep GD was the house band.......

  • @clubmyndset Yes, it was an amazing time. One of the coolest thing about the Avalon Ballroom was that the stage was in a front corner and the performers had to literally walk a path from the dressing rooms at the back of the ballroom through the floor seated audience to get on stage. 3 bands a night at least and seeing 3 Dog Night first ever show there, and many top bands in intimate sets, and you are correct, the cops were the coolest, nicest guys, helping out and not hassling anyone.

  • why is there even a dislike button for this song

  • @thebailhimself idk man, idk

  • @thebailhimself because Bob Wier is a douche bag

  • @fmsullivan1978 douche....

  • i could live my life in this song..

  • @jsscgyr ....but have you ever heard the Memphis 1920s originals....Gus Cannon....The Memphis Jug Band?

  • I was born in '74. This is so awsome!!!! Why do I feel like a 60's wild child when my parents were so conservative?

  • DAMN! This song just POPS!

Love it to pieces.....The Dead were hotter than ever from the start.

  • great stuff....can anyone put up the studio version from the Shakedown Street album??

    thanks!

  • i think its a farfisa organ

  • What kind of organ did pigpen play on this album?

  • i get visuals every time i listen to this era in dead music, and im not even tripping. just good vibes

  • it was a trip back then. . . . I wasn't even born
