  • Just for the record, I WAS THERE that night, and it was standing room only. I'm surprised whatever video you got came out this good. Don't let the closet creeps keep you from doing what you do, 'cause so far I like what I see!

  • @Tambernardino I was lucky enough to be there as well. They had some great concerts on the pier.

  • Delbert is a true rarity in the Muzbiz today: boundless energy, limitless talent, and a Gentleman's Gentleman.

  • @buckyddog indeed, Delbert is all that and some!

  • Delbert is a living legend period! I met him in Austin and had an opportunity to party with him and he is one hell of a guy!! I've been hooked on his music since the first time I heard him sing. The guy even opened shows for the Beatles!! Yup! thats right the Beatles....he even taught John Lenon how to play the harmonica!!!

  • Prove I was there!? I'm so sorry if the video quality isn't up to your standards, but if you don't like it, do better yourself then whine about it. And why oh why does it bother you that you weren't there?

  • @MusicUCanSee I was there and I saw you there too. That is proof enough for everyone who isn't lucky enough to be able to see these free concerts. If not, tough luck.

  • Special!!!

  • Delbert is one of the last true american legends, and one hell of a nice guy.

  • It sounds like you speak from first hand experience. I completely agree with you that he's a hell of a nice guy but can't be sure he'll be among the LAST American legends, he is truly an American treasure a legend if you will but to me Delbert is a hero and an inspiration and has become an icon of the music he loves and to the people who listen to it.

  • I have a tape with most of his songs and play them everyday and everywhere' Makes my day eveery day

  • You've got great taste, Delbert can have that effect on ya. He's well respected by everyone who knows him and his music inspires most who listen to him, myself included. Can't say enough great things about Mr McClinton, but won't stop tryin.

  • My pleasure. I've been playing music professionally for 43 years, off and on, and I think I know the wheat from the chaff. This guy means it. Talent isn't everything; soul is everything. The artists that keep me coming back- Tom Petty, Emmylou, Bonnie Raitt, Clapton, Willie Nelson, Diana Krall- have one thing in common: regardless of musical style, it has to come from deep inside. Otherwise, why bother? Like Ellington said: only two kinds of music: good and bad. this is good. Real good.

  • how 'bout this for positive: Delbert McClinton is one of the best rock and roll singers of the last thirty years. Authentic, soulful, and rocks like crazy. This and "Every Time I Roll the Dice" are about as good as it gets, Sun Sessions included. Right there with Chuck Berry and Little Richard, and those four guys from LIverpool that everyone said would never last.

  • Indeed, Delbert is one of the best to come down the pike in a long long time, truly the real deal, he gets better every time I see him. He's doing a music production workshop in Nashville coming up real soon, anyone in the area interested in the way records get made should scrape their pennies together and try to get a spot in the 'class'. Thanks for the positive comments, it's nice when people use these comment spaces for what they're intended.

  • @MusicUCanSee Thank you for posting....

  • I love Delbert and love this song. I was lucky enough to see him live in 2006. His hair was longer than on this video. It looks better shorter!

  • I first heard Delbert when I lived in Austin back in the 80's and have been a fan since. I met him after a show in Texas and have had the opportunity to talk with him several times. He is the real deal, I put his music in it's own genre, 'roadhouse'. I've still got his early work on vinyl records and enjoy them more now than when I bought em. I can't pick a favorite but 'Read Me My Rights' from the album 'Nothing Personal' is up near the top of a long list.

  • Yes,I would say he definitely has his own genre. That's what makes him so unique. I like so many of his songs so it would be hard for me to pick a favorite.

  • What's that about? I've seen him about 30 times and can think of a lot more to comment on than the length of his hair.

  • Then why don't you? And make it a positive comment.
