I just want to thank you for sharing this, I too am a parent of a child diagnosed with myoclonic seizures, it is very helpful to be able to see that my son isnt alone and other people have the same types of seizures he does, as far as all the rude comments on here, it makes me sick..nevermind what others say they obviously have no idea what its like to go throgh this. prayers to you and your little man, hope he gets better

seizures are scary, especially if you have never been around someone who has them. I see nothing wrong with asking him "silly" questions,,each parent deals with it their own way. The only thing I would have done is pulled him onto his side. And that being in case he were to have spit up or gotten sick at his stomach and vomited , like alot of people do when they have a seizure. He can choke badly if he is on his back because he is not responsive enough to prevent it.

If there's a book out there of "Appropriate things to say to a seizing child" I haven't seen it. You are reading too much into this.

@PitVsMiruk I wish God could help too. This video is years old but my son has recently started having very strong seizures that he knows are happening - he sounds very afraid during and after he smiles with relief - very heartbreaking, I love him so much and it kills me to see him distress.
@mag5jas2 I hope everything is okay with him. I had seizures when I was younger. Some I couldn't remember, and some I was completely aware of what was happening throughout. I hope that it eventually stops. Or that they can find a medication that will work for him.

There's NOTHING you can do when someone has a seizure, especially when they already have medication for it and all. The most you can do is make sure they don't get anything in their mouths. For one I'm glad this is here. I didn't know what a seizure looked like.
@LumbyOwnzu2k7 i was filming it so I could show his neurologist - at that time he was having these 3-4 times a day. every day. and no help from the neuro so I fugured if i could show him what they looked like that would help the neuro understand what he might be able to do to help. I believe this is also explained in the description of this video.
@mag5jas2 Epilepsy is something difficult for neuro. doctors to help with because they can come from hundreds of causes and have many different causes, mine for example isn't properly diagnosed yet with no cause and it's been since 2007. Thankfully for myself, mine are tonic-clonic seizures and i've only had 4 or 5 grand mal seizures, 2 being in hospital after my first one.
@heslop01 This was years ago - his sz are pretty much controlled now by diet (not the keto - the Specific Carb Diet). He does have abscense and single myoclonics but his neuro and I agreed that meds will probably not help (we went through about 8 before we decided to try med-free) Jason would honeymoon and every drug so it was quite the rollercoaster.

We were once call to a child choking in a duel responce area. It was a new mother and her first child. She thought he had swallowed something and choked. The other department showed and did the heimlich maneuver on a child having a seizure. So now I watch for diffirent types of seizures. So I will never make that kind of mistake.
My wife has a seizure disorder so seizures don't scare me so much.

Given it was 4 years ago I don't remember flushing the toilet - but I do remember my daughter was watching The Incredibles. Anyway, Jason has come a long way - he's off all meds as I put him on a diet that has reduced his seizures to the point where they are no longer noticeable by anyone but me. I am so glad a went the diet route and pitched the drugs 3 years ago - drugs didn't work for him, and sometimes made him worse. He's doing great, going to and loving school.
@TheVgstudio read the description - to help others recognize these seizures - these are nasty ones. the video is not for you - it's for parents with children with brain damage. Long ago, when Jason was having these when he was 6 months old, the doctors didn't even think they were sz. I searched and searched on the internet until I found out what they were, and they were bad - causing more brain damage. I had to tell the doctors what he had - Infantile Spasms - google that. You'll see.
@0XLilMissCX0 yes there are worse and Jason had some pretty nasty ones - a few that almost took his life (well, possibly not the sz themselves but the drugs administered to stop them). Thankfully he's survived all that and off drugs is doing great. He'll be 8 in Feb. I can't believe my little man is so old!
@scoobymarc2009 Thank you - he's doing great - happy healthy, enjoying life. Loved by many. Going to school, swimming, skating. He cant walk, talk, move much but we are here for him and love him so much.
@HealthRanger7 Jason had sz 18 hours after birth (cause unknown) then massive brain bleed at 5 weeks from which he was not expected to recover. At 3 months he had vaccinations - then started to have Infantile Spasms (IS). These are rare and probably symptomatic from his brain damage. That being said, i do NOT vaccinate him or my daughter - in short I agree completely that vac are dangerous, but with Jason are not the cause, I do believe they would hurt him tho.
@ticklemyprettypickle It's not easy - especially during the first few years when he was so fragile. Now is much better - he's happy, healthy - he cant sit, walk, or talk but he understands and responds to so much. He loves life and we love him.
i had one of those as a child and could hav edied from it considering i was a baby but i survived from it.

@slav801 If God really wanted him to be healed, he would be healed already. Jason is an innocent pure being that knows love and nothing else. Why God has him suffer at times I do not know. All I can think is that God maybe has a plan that uses Jason as a way to teach others of the true impotance of life and love. All I know is that I love my son no matter what, I will always love him, treasure every day he is here.

@LumbyOwnzu2k7 i was filming it so I could show his neurologist - at that time he was having these 3-4 times a day. every day. and no help from the neuro so I fugured if i could show him what they looked like that would help the neuro understand what he might be able to do to help. I believe this is also explained in the description of this video.

@mag5jas2 Epilepsy is something difficult for neuro. doctors to help with because they can come from hundreds of causes and have many different causes, mine for example isn't properly diagnosed yet with no cause and it's been since 2007. Thankfully for myself, mine are tonic-clonic seizures and i've only had 4 or 5 grand mal seizures, 2 being in hospital after my first one.

@heslop01 This was years ago - his sz are pretty much controlled now by diet (not the keto - the Specific Carb Diet). He does have abscense and single myoclonics but his neuro and I agreed that meds will probably not help (we went through about 8 before we decided to try med-free) Jason would honeymoon and every drug so it was quite the rollercoaster.

This mother did the right thing, record it. I know first hand how hard it is to watch your child seize and feel helpless. ER can only sedate the child with large doses of benzos. You should try to hide your ignorance better in the future.

Thank you for posting, I am a firefighter I watch to see the diffirent types of Seizures.
We were once call to a child choking in a duel responce area. It was a new mother and her first child. She thought he had swallowed something and choked. The other department showed and did the heimlich maneuver on a child having a seizure. So now I watch for diffirent types of seizures. So I will never make that kind of mistake.
My wife has a seizure disorder so seizures don't scare me so much.

Given it was 4 years ago I don't remember flushing the toilet - but I do remember my daughter was watching The Incredibles. Anyway, Jason has come a long way - he's off all meds as I put him on a diet that has reduced his seizures to the point where they are no longer noticeable by anyone but me. I am so glad a went the diet route and pitched the drugs 3 years ago - drugs didn't work for him, and sometimes made him worse. He's doing great, going to and loving school.

@TheVgstudio read the description - to help others recognize these seizures - these are nasty ones. the video is not for you - it's for parents with children with brain damage. Long ago, when Jason was having these when he was 6 months old, the doctors didn't even think they were sz. I searched and searched on the internet until I found out what they were, and they were bad - causing more brain damage. I had to tell the doctors what he had - Infantile Spasms - google that. You'll see.

Thankfully he's survived all that and off drugs is doing great. He'll be 8 in Feb. I can't believe my little man is so old!

@HealthRanger7 Jason had sz 18 hours after birth (cause unknown) then massive brain bleed at 5 weeks from which he was not expected to recover. At 3 months he had vaccinations - then started to have Infantile Spasms (IS). These are rare and probably symptomatic from his brain damage. That being said, i do NOT vaccinate him or my daughter - in short I agree completely that vac are dangerous, but with Jason are not the cause, I do believe they would hurt him tho.
