Because of its combination of beauty, fierce jaws, and mysterious behavior, I personally consider this to be the most interesting cat on earth. It's a shame we don't really don't have like... a documentary on it or something.

Iban native described this leopard as" the ghost of the darkness" in Sarawak canopy jungle. This cat has amazing camouflouge and move from branch to branch rarely move to the ground. Its favourite menu is orang utan. No wonder during Sarawak confrontation against Indonesia in 1960s that time this cat attack human especially soldier during night time when everybody is sleeping and drag them to the tree and dine. Only in the morning they found half of body hangingup in the tree. This is true

this species of cat outta all the other species of cats is the most related 2 the extinct sabre toothed cat. sure the tiger has the biggest teeth outta all the cats but thats only because it's suitable to its size not 2 mention its the biggest feline in its family.but the clouded leapord has these giant teeth copared 2 its small ,little body almost as big as a tigers.And that is what distingushes it from the rest of its family.

We had one of these(wasn't burmese) at our work for a month, she was sooo sweet. I got so attached to her. gentle and lovable. I cried when they moved her and her baby. She was gentle as a kitten and just as playful. I would sit with her and she would sleep in my lap and wake up then try to clean me. :-( Im sad now

What is all this talk about the clouded leopard being discovered just now. I read about these cats in 1996 in children's books (I was 8 at the time). The books explained how these cats lived in parts of Bangladesh Hill Tracks and India.

Anyway I suddenly have the urge to make tons of money from home, weird.

actually comparing this to a normal leopard is more like comparing a mountain lion to a tiger.

because a lion and tiger are from the same genus so they actually can be compared more extensively. but clouded leopards and mountain lions both have seperate genera.

yeah they are not even in the same genus.. at least lions and tigers are in the same genus.. there is also another one similar the Bornean Clouded Leopard which is in the same genus but is considered another species as well

its a new separate species from the mainland clouded leopard, declared in 2007. differences included skull structure, coat patterns, and numerous molecular differences enough to consider it a total separate species instead of a subspecies.

Man it is beautiful, i love leopards, jagurars and tigers, most stunning cats on the earth.

They are there just to watch them secretly, i can`t understand why they capture or endager such amazing animals.

You can see their furr in the zoo but not how they move or how their eyes look when they`re free in the wild.

it has wery long teeth but you cant see them when the cat has closed mouth.

How can it be a new species? Isn't it a sub species of the Clouded Leopard? They are found across Southern China, Northeastern India, Southeast Asia and Borneo. It's strange, as the animal is the same coloration and has exactly the same features.
