In all fairness, the last time Kirk had some kids on the bridge of the Enterprise, they tried to summon up a "Friendly Angel" that murdered an entire colony.
So, I'm sure there's a reason why Kirk has issues with kids on his ship.
The same exact thing happen to me with Brent Spiner. the dude was an asshole, and completely changed the way i saw data. When i went to shake his hand he denied it, and he said stuff that with my extreme akwardness i didn't know how to respond to. I hated being put on the spot like that. My social confidence went straight down for about a month after that. i lost 10 lbs, my posture-diminished. I was in AP classes because of his character he played, and i was lucky i didn't totally fail afterward
@heathbug The laughter is louder, yes. You'll need to turn your volume up, use louder speakers or put on headphones, if you're having trouble. You're the first to say you can't hear it.
Shatner could have been having a horrible day. And Wheaton was in my town at a mall once, and someone accidentally bumped into him, to which he snapped, "Excuse you!" But I think it quite possible that these two men, like the rest of us, have our bad moments & our good ones. I'm glad Mr. Wheaton has the humor to deal with what must have been devastating for a 16 year old. For what it's worth, Star Trek V tanked horribly, but Bill's a much nicer man now! :)
For those who decided to write some negativity here, and out of curiosity - If you feel that way, or about Mr. Wheaton in particular (given its obvious significance here), why did you click to view it? Or is it just some negativity sniping at its most mediocre? Am I just missing something because I have common sense? Is there some latent, childhood trauma caused by not getting that Nestles commercial your "agent"/2nd cousin didn't land you? Relax kittens .. its only youtube ..
I'm pretty sure Shatner was joking (not everybody gets his type of humor though) and it's stupid to get insulted over anything especially over something so irrelevant. Shatner Weathon 1-0
He's done plenty of work that has nothing to do with Star Trek. Additionally, he was one of the original co-hosts for Arena on G4Tech TV.
Also, it's a tremendous honor to be a cult icon, much less a cult icon within the Star Trek franchise. Anyone who would reject Trekkie adoration is a jackass.
I saw him on Big Bang Theory a couple of weeks back, and his acting was pretty terrible on it, though. It would be a good idea for him to work on facial expressions. :P
What lottery ticket? His sole career is based on TNG, and if he really wanted to have a different career like he always claims, he should just do it, and not always appear as "Wil Wheaton, formerly known as Wesley Crusher" on cons just to moan about it on his blog later. That's got nothing to do with inanity - he's just like Denise Crosby. They left the show only to notice that it was a mistake, and now they both are pathetically grasping for straws.
What lottery ticket? If I was anyone memorable from star trek in any way, I would milk that shit until the vein runs dry. Then I would try to eat the vein! Everyone complains about something. It would make no sense to give up a sure thing or two just because you complain about it later!
What? WHAT!? WHAAAT!? SPeak up!!!

william fucking shatner...that was priceless :)

It's so sad. James Kirk rules, but William Shatner blows.
In an interesting reverse, Wesley Crusher sucks, but Wil Wheaton kicks ass!

@ragingmouse "why did you click to view it? Or is it just some negativity "
"why or"? or from what?
"Am I just missing something because I have common sense?"
definitely. star trek is not for common people's sense. common people likes friends.

I can't say that I'm surprised at that. James T. Kirk is a hell of a lot more likeable than William Shatner.

Man, I can't believe that. I thought Shatner was a distinquished gentleman. After hearing this, it makes me think twice.

Why is he still clinging to his TNG career, appearing on all those cons and whatnots, instead of trying to get acting jobs?

Yes it would. You'd show integrity. Which he's obviously lacking.

Well, a copy of this story is on the Suicide Girls website. Just search "William Shatner". There are 2 parts.

*shakes fist angrily* He didn't get to the part about the TNG cast offering to beat up Shatner! XD
Oh, Wil, I wish to hug your younger self and give him cookies.
