Nice remix! And the alien baby thing dieing along with Henry was for the best. Henry knew deep down in his heart that by the ending that thing was going to grow up to star in Mac and Me. Besides, he's in a much better place now; in the cottage cheese covered radiator world with fat cheeks.
_____This is the surface plot of ERASERHEAD. In an alternate universe or future, Henry Spencer's girlfriend has a...baby. The girlfriend's mother said it wasn't a good idea, and it wasn't. The baby is clearly not human--a sort of mutant not of this world. It begins to manifest other-worldly powers after being left to him. He tries to kill this abomination. However, can a man kill a demon or being not wholly of one's reality? The movie has deeper meanings... Think Stephen King's DARK TOWER,
@Egglesplork, I thought this brilliant little movie was a post-modern and post industrial, anti-establishment take on the flawed values of previous generatons moral and social norms when applied to modern times wrapped in the gauzey trappings of a misunderstood dream.
Obviously today having a baby out of wedlock is not as bad or sinful as once viewed, you're misreading the whole thing; sparky! There is no supernatural overtones to this at all.
That is the exact conclusion I came up with. Like, when he puts that little worm thing, I feel it symbolizes his sex-life--like he's putting it away and then when it wriggles and dances around that planet (which I think is his mind/brain) it means it's on his mind and there's nothing to do about it--his wife is out of the question....oooohh....but maybe that pretty lady across the hall would be up for some....well....xD
This version is hard as shit to find....

@BlueKyne I think the film was more of an ode to male sexual frustration. Its themes centered on Man's broken nature, I think.
Of course, David Lynch's films are so intentionally vague, there's pretty much no "wrong" interpretation. :)

FYI, the Lady In The Radiator song was actually performed by Peter Ivers, not Lynch and Splet as credited.

You're welcome.
(I did a dissertation on David Lynch's music, so I get a bit anal about these things sometimes.)
