It should also be mentioned that during the fight in the anime, Zechs was actually looking for a final battle for him to lose his life in. He was still grief stricken from the destruction of the Sanc Kingdom and his failure to save it in the Wing Zero. That is one of the main reasons why after peace was restored, he returned to assist the preventors as "wind" to maintain what Relena and the others had achieved. Zechs was the better pilot and probably the best out of the entire series.

Zechs was the better mobile suit pilot, as was Treize. If anyone read Gundam Episode 0 or the actual Manga, you'd know that the only Gundam pilot truly on a somewhat level playing field with Zechs and Treize was none other than Trowa aka Nanashi aka Triton Bloom. If you refer to the final fight between Zechs and Heero, Zechs actually threw the fight in the Manga and had no intention of actually destroying the earth. It was all a ploy to end the war and merge the relations between earth and space

it's more circumstantial than skill, Zechs fought fought 50 Aries and 30 cancers in Tallgeese, while Heero fought an army of Mobile DOLL Virgos in a crappy Leo

Yeah.. Heero fought them and survived for a while but Quatre saved him.

Do you remember when Heero was going to assassinate Trieze in Luxembourg? He was using his Wing Gundam and ended up only taking several Virgos out.

Zechs was in space and defeated a large army of space Tauruses before his suit was finally defeated.

I do see what you're saying though.

But overall, Zech's seems to be better when outnumbered than most others

@darkrevenger04 - Correct. The video is titled "Talgeese Destroyed", because it's a clip of Gundam Wing, Episode 18, which is of the same name.

Talgeese was supposed to be destroyed in this episode, and Zechs killed. But as Zechs himself states, Oz "seriously underestimated the value of my life". In truth, it was Romafeller that wanted Zechs dead, not Treize himself. It was the Romafeller hardliners, and Zech's "Peacecraft" past, that was the beginning of the end to their friendship

Actually the Hyaku Shiki is the taller mobile suit:

Tallgeese= Head height 17.4 meters

Hyaku Shiki= overall height 21.4 meters; antenna height 19.2 meters; head height 18.5 meters

Tallgeese wins in Agility too.

Buy the Tallgeese 3 High Grade 1/100 Kit. Provided you're willing to do some painting, they have all the parts available to make any of the three Tallgeese variations. It's not complex painting either, just airbrushing some parts white instead of blue.

Some of these scenes seemed kind of silly. I didn't mind the Tallgeese dodging stuff, that's kind of what it's supposed to do. But you'd think if that MS's tech was that old, the weapons would've been upgraded enough that direct hits by lots of missiles and torpedos would've done more than crack his mask, with no external damage. Almost as bad as the 'plot armor' turning into a 'plot cannon' when Trowa (I think?) in a grunt MS does serious damage to one of the gundams.

They do this in real life with technology. They make a super prototype, then downgrade it for the military market/commercial market. You can see it with computers.

It was actually a Taurus mobile suit with a powerful beam cannon that was shot at Duo's already damaged Deathscythe, that's why Trowa practically destroyed it

Why the misleading title? Tallgeese isn't destroyed until some time after it gets into space IIRC. It's been a VERY long time since I watched Wing.

Gundam Wing was a fine show, but I don't know where you're getting "good dub." None of the characters had much in the way in voice inflection as far as I could tell.

How is there no voice inflection? Brian Drummond (who voices Zechs) changes his intonation when necessary...Furthermore, I agree with the above comment; Gundam Wing is one of the better dubs -- it stays true to the original dialogue, there is no censoring/editing in it (as far as I remember), and the voice actors behind the characters have a lot of work experience and talent. There's very little, if anything, wrong with it.

Yeah, and I'm sure the Japanese voice actors, or I'm sorry, seiyuus, as you Japanophiles like to say, put a lot more effort. The dub's actors have lots of talent and put a lot of effort into their performances. I can already tell that if I said one thing negative about the Japanese voice for Heero, you'd go off on a tangent about how all dubs suck and how Cartoon Network should burn in hell or some other bullshit.
