@smallninjaman It was DARPA Chief, Pshycho mantis couldnt get into his mind because of cerebral implants. DARPA died when Ocelot messed up with his torture method. So as an attempt to trick snake into arming Metal Gear they had Octopus take on DARPA Chiefs identity.

I don't understand why everyone says MGS1 is the best game ever. I got it & it's decent. It was probably great when it was released because of the standards of that time, but honestly it's boring me with horrible controls & it feels tedious to complete. I did enjoy the story for the 4 hours I spent on it, but the controls are too clumsy.

There is much much more to it than that. For starters, the DARPA chief is not the darpa chief, but rather Decoy Octopus acting like him. Play the game again and try to listen to what is being said.

@Snake082389 old comment is old... i don't know if you figured it out, but i will explain. after he was turned into cyborg ninja, gray fox would sometimes have intense spasms of pain from the haphazzard nature of the suit. it was so intense it appeared he was losing his mind and only medicine helped. it's why he killed para-medic. he couldn't fight with those spasms happening and it wasn't him, but para-medic, who grafted the suit onto his body while he was in a coma and he never agreed to itO_O

If this was ever to be adapted into a live action movie. Kojima could write the screenplay for it & direct it alongside with Tony Scott. Have some brand new actors casted & have 1 or 2 veteran actors to play supportive roles in it. so far I have Sean Bean in mind for Liquid Snake. perhaps for Jim Houseman I would go for Jeff Bridges & Keith Carradine for Roy Campbell
