I've always been pretty good at working stuff out by ear, but this song's one of the few that's had me stumped for years. Hats off to you sir, and of course the great Brian Wilson. A true genius of harmony !
Thanks! I've tried to learn this a few times over the years but gave up on some of the chords.. This video got me over the hump. Awesome lesson, Cheers!
Thanks so much for this. One of my all time favourite songs in an incredibly well made lesson. Ten minutes in and I've got it down and sounding great! Thanks for demystifying/simplifying those jazz chords. I am seriously happy with what you've just taught me. Kudos.
Thanks a whole lot man! When I heard this tune I thought three things: this song is amazing, I need to learn it and it sounds like it has notes I've never seen before. I can't read music and couldn't find any tabs for it. so you've saved. Cheers.
HI, GREAT VIDEO, YOU HAVE A GREAT WAY OF TEACHING YOU SHOULD BE VERY PROUD!QUESTION; IS THE (F# minor 6) with an A bass, just the same as D# minor 7th flat 5?these chords are hard especially with the bass being different notes from the root but you do a good job showing them!
This is a killer video, man. I spent a while looking for tabs but nothing comes close to illustrating all those wacky chords like your vid. Beautifully done.
An amazing song...and it becomes more amazing when you break it down like so. Cheers!
Hey Bobby, love the vids and thanks first off. I was wondering if there was any reason you couldn't play the piece before you show us how to play it, just so we have the tune in our head, ya know, kind of an example of what we're gunna learn? Thanks again for the time you take on these vids, don't take me wrong.
Thanks Bobby. This is a fantastic song and one of my all time favorites. I saw an interview with Carl speaking about this song and how special it was, and he said "And I got to sing it". You could tell he really liked what Brian had done with this music.
Yeah that's definitely it. It kind of blows my mind how a guy could write a song that seems so complex (at least to me) and sounds so great.

I agree with Universe guy. It would be a little easier to follow if you had played it through to begin with.
