shot is improvable with work. physique has not reached his peak. he is smart and WILL improve and adapt his game to nba. i think it is a good pick. a future investment.
well ricky is 18, he has played pro ball since 15, accomplished so much there. his game has grown in the spanish league for years. most other players have played high school ball and a year of college. ok, ncaa division 1 is real competitive, but we have to understand the frame ricky is in has been elite since he was 14, and being 18 he was on the silver medal olympic squad with top notch euro players, gasols bros, navarro, rudy fernandez, calderon... we seem to DEMAND perfection. PATIENCE......
It's sickening to hear these telecasters compare Rubio, let alone ANYONE to Maravich. Anyone who believes that ANYONE resembles his greatness, is blind.

why is there so much hype about ricky rubio?? he sucks, hes just playing in a Spanish basketball league, which is no where close to NBA or NCAA intensity.
Have you ever seen an european basketball match? the spanish league is the the second best basketball league, sure is not NBA but a lot of players from spanish league could play in NBA, and has a HIGER LEVEL THAN NCAA!
ESPN's hyping up Ricky Rubio, who's frequently being mentioned on Mike Golic and Mike Greenberg's and Colin Cowherd's ESPN radio's sports shows.
It will be interesting to see how well Rubio does in the NBA. Some draft projections have him going third overall to Oklahoma City. He would fit in well with Kevin Durant there.
Ricky probably has 10 more years before he's even reached his peak! Think about it. Sure, he's lacking in some areas of his play, but he has ALOT of talent and basketball-IQ to build upon. I'm sure that in 5 years or so, he'll be a terrific point guard even in the NBA.
On top of his sweet passing skills and vision, I expect Rubio to be a league leader in steals. He has amazing anticipation skills as well as a great combination of length and quickness from the PG position.
